For this week's camping trip we took a drive down to the Heart Creek Bunker near Canmore Alberta. This was a Cold War-era bunker built around 1969. It was built by a private company planning to store documents in case of a nuclear attack. It was never fully completed and remains not far off the Trans Canada Trail. It was a great place to camp for the night without needing to bring a shelter.

@Russell Weber 3 I mean that's a matter of opinion, isn't it? It seemed pretty artistic to me. Fuck I don't rven get high but getting stoned, setting osmeyhing on fire and hanging out in a cave sounds like one hell of a memorable time to me.

@@russellweber3466 your negativity is unwanted. And that wasn’t art? Yet I suppose the “painting” that you paid to see in some art gallery that was created by the “artist” smearing their dung all over canvas in a “abstract style” was art right? Have you ever tried to capture a crystal clear picture in total darkness of a moving object emitting light?? It’s not just snapping a picture…you have to have the right camera lens and get the F stop just right, focal length has to be correct, and several other things as well. So until you can man up and prove you can do it, then I’d suggest you keep your negativity to yourself because those kids seemed pretty darn artistic to me. And no one appeared stoned. Try learning to live positively and you might find some happiness in life dude.

It just happens to be a plucky normal guy, that makes the other people outside seem hopefully normal. But not always the case in reality. The streets are tough man. You impress us most by just loving what you are doing...., Clean, simple camping for the love of camping. Like a few others that have commented, this weeks slower delivery gave me a reason to go and watch your vids...., but I went all the way from the start. I made it almost to your 8 weeks camping series, really looking forward to that one. So, as I said..., we, your loyal legions, are more impressed when you're out there doing what you love more so than just trying to impress us. also.. holy crap! I lived in the bow valley for years - I hiked like all those trails, I even worked at the Baymag Plant, nestled in the middle of the LaFarge cement plant across the Bow that you showed in the video.. I lived in Canmore, worked 15 years just down the road near Seebe, even drank at the Exshaw Legion... and I have NEVER KNOWN about that abandoned bunker... you learn something new every day! thanks Steve!

The ones who do that graffiti damage probably didn't know this bunker existed. They will now. They didn't use to know easy routes up mtn peaks but since social media came along, they found out and graffitti exists way up there. It never did before that. Ppl climbed mtns and visited caves for decades without defacing those places, such a shame now that some do.
