Myself and Lee from Burton outdoors decided to head out into the woods on a wet and miserable day. wet set in the rain and got a camp fire lit in the rain.
This video shows how to find dry materials for a fire in wet conditions.

A good fire on a rainy night is worth it’s weight in gold. Side note I loved the section of time laps with the music playing. Pretty cool effect.

I really enjoyed this video ! This what I have done so many times using a snug tent after eating a good dinner with a fiend , great talks and joking around and some slugs of whiskey for a nightcap. You will notice that a tarp was hused the right way and a tent and hammock under that, you do not use a tarp ass your only shelter. Great video thank you I enjoyed that !

Mate that was quality, from a wet horrible day you made a great viddie out of it, made me laugh too, only trouble is I look like a giant!! I should of brought my sinking chair too to be on the same level... Really enjoyed it and the camp, it was fun, glad you cut some of the convos out though 😉 Also the rain sounded intense on your Go Pro, it didn't sound that bad on my phone but it was horrible that day... 8 hours of rain. Burton Outdoors .. GoPro have multi directional mics so they pick up lots of ambient sounds.. great for rain and morning birdsong. You did look like a giant! Your taller than me anyway but your chair made it funnier 😂👍 It was a challenging camp, but I love a bit of adversity 👍👍 Thanks for being great company. Until the next one mate 👍

Super vid, tarp n tent camping in the rain with a good fire and a few drinks, a great set up for this time of year. I use the reflectix silver matt and the Naturehike air matt like yours but also a Karrimor folding foam matt between them during colder months, no feeling the ground or rolling off in my sleep! Rainbow wheels 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'll have to remember that tip of dead standing for wet weather fire wood. I used dead fall on the ground for my last camp and had a really hard time. What GoProdo you use Dan, it sounds like you have the funny sound issue I have when you can't use the external mic. I have the same tent, but the 300 version, still yet to use it. It's always funny seeing you and Lee together!

wood laying on the ground soaks up water.. if it's standing the water runs off it, so it will always have a dry core. I use the hero 5 black, when its raining the drops hit the camera and make a horrible sound, but at least it is not going to damage it : ) what GoPro do you use? I like the 200 trek, its about the right size for me or me and the dog. thanks for watching mate : )

@@CampLifeBushcraft I use the same GoPro 5 with an external mic. My last camp I just used it with a windslayer foam thing. The normal mics I find are very sensitive to touch and vibration etc. That's what's great about each others vids, we learn a lot from each other. I bought the 300 just incase my wife ever decided to come camping/glamping. I thought it would also be spacious for just me in somewhere like Dartmoor.

Yeah was using the windslayer.. it’s ok but not ideal.. best you can do in bad weather. I have a oex tent that’s bigger for when the wife comes, cost me an arm and a leg.. she’s only been once 😂😂

ABOVE THE LAW .. I do own the footprint ground sheet for the tent but I forgot it 😏 I wanted to try the extra wide sleep mat as it had just arrived, turns out it was not great.. with my usual mat I’m sure I’d have been fine. My own fault.
