Recently added a Sub1 with this Sub2 rig. Total 1,960 watts, Expert Power ran it no problem!

I am a working musician. I have the Bose Model 1S speaker array with the B2 Bass module. And a Line 6 Helix guitar processor along with a 200w trooper speaker to add a little more midrange. I recently bought the ExpertPower Aloha 400. I was concerned if it would be enough. NO PROBLEM! I plugged all of them into the Alpha 400 and turned all of them on. How long did the Alpha 400 power last? Six and a half hours! That’s when I decided not to wait until all power was exhausted since my. gigs are normally only 4 hours. The Alpha had been running for approximately 20 minutes into the last power bar when I ended the test. I love this thing! And it is built like a tank! 500 recharges is what the company claims. Recharging the Alpha took approximately 6 hours.

Wow great results! Just wondering, did you buy it after my recommendation?
@Buckshott_543 жыл бұрын
@@WWeiss-nv5vz no I just viewed your recommendation yesterday August 4th. The Alpha 400 arrived last week and that’s when I conducted my test. Mind you the whole system, guitar processor, trooper external speaker and the Bose Model 1S wit the B2 were ALL IDLE with no sound being driven through them. Don’t know if that makes much of a difference but thought I’d mention it. 6 1/2 hours with approximately 20 minutes into the last bar before I turned the Alpha off.

@@Buckshott_54 Incredible performance! Playing music at high dBs over 100 dB will cut into that time. Get back to me if you get new times after running a gig. I never dreamed I could run a full size sub on battery power. I don't know if you are interested but the solar panel also works great.

The volume (Sound Pressure Level SPL) determines how much power you consume. The louder you run the system, the faster you deplete the power. For example, you might get 7 hours of music at 80 dBC SPL and only 2 hours at 110 dBC SPL.

I have a Jackey 160. It easily runs my L1 compact. It would probably run my compact and my s1 pro, but there is only 1 ac outlet on the Jackery 160. I also have a Bluetti 400 which will run both powered speakers with ease. All these years, I never realized this could be done. Big game changer as far as placement goes.

Forgot to mention the fact that the Expert Power, power station has three AC outlets. This is critical for other devices like a mixer. The Jackery 500 which is more powerful at 500 watts has only one AC input. Deal Breaker for me!

I wanted to buy a JBL Eon One Compact but ended up buying JBL ixr 108bt because of the better SPL. Also, the IXR 108 BT saved me around 120 dollars. Now I am planning to invest that money in a power station. What should I look into a power station for running an IXR 108bt? Is 200 watts enough?
@WWeiss-nv5vz9 ай бұрын
Without actually putting the speaker on a watt meter I'm not sure. I have efficient speakers that run on 150 watts, so not sure how efficient the ixr is. 400 watts will definitely work! The issue is if you are DJing or playing a gig at high volume over 2+ hours then you need a more powerful unit. The louder you play say 100dB the shorter the run time. In that case maybe 800 watts. Check out this latest video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bl7QdpuCrZKAfrM

I've been trying to find this out, how is it that these battery packs can run 1000w speaker systems when the battery is only rated for 400w 500w etc? I myself have a 600w battery power station and i was able to power 2 rcf 1400w speakers and a mixer at near maximum volume for 1hr and 30mins and got the battery down to 67percent. Someone help me understand. 🤷🏻♂️
@WWeiss-nv5vz3 жыл бұрын
Sounds good! What battery pack do you use? At normal volumes efficient speakers don't draw much power. On the other hand playing at max volumes over 100dB with heavy bass tracks could kick in a speakers limiter if enough power is not available.

I was chatting with you on another one of your posts regarding the Grantmaya power station. I see here you also have a Beaudens 166Wh Portable power station. Have you tried that with your CP8? If so, how long did it power just the CP8 (no subwoofer or other devices) for? Have you had any issues with it being "Modified Sine Wave" and not "Pure Sine Wave"?
@WWeiss-nv5vz2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is being made anymore. If you can find one, no problem being modified sine wave. At max volume CP8 draws 44 watts which would=3 hours run time. At more reasonable levels expect 4-6 hours. Remember bass heavy music drains the battery that much faster. For the $$$ Grantmaya is the much better deal.

@WWeiss-nv5vz3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven't tried the CP 8 over the Sub2 but I'm sure it will be incredible! The CP8 is in another league from the S1Pro as far as dynamics. It puts out 124dB compared to 109 dB of the S1Pro. +6 dB is twice the power. S1 Pro gets harsh at max dB. If you don't need battery power the CP8 at $400 is the deal of the century! Plus it's built like a tank. I just have one CP 8 so wouldn't get the great stereo affect I demonstrated. I do use one QSC K8.2 on a pole over a QSC KSub for my electronic drums. At $650 for the K8.2 best $250 upgrade you can make. They don't make the KSub anymore but their new KS112 at $1,000 is supposed to be great. K8.2 $650 + $1,000 for KS112. $1,650 I would put that combination up against ANY current column array available!
