The two different stun guns I’ve bought said to shock in the butt or flanks as first priority. Of course anywhere you can in a ‘situation’, but aim for those areas first - I can see the buttocks being the largest muscle to twitch, and the flanks just seem like a sensitive area with less protection that might affect the diaphragm. The groin or neck second or third choice. An attacker might not be expecting an attack the the side and backside. But I’ve fortunately not had to test that situation… yet.
@Karatemart Жыл бұрын
Interesting Austin, I’ve never heard that before. I’ve taken a lot of stuns to every area of the body and didn’t feel like the glutes were the best place to stun. It’s hurts there, but not as bad as the neck, stomach, hands or thighs. If you do a search on Google for “best spots for the stun gun”, it’ll give you a good idea what works best. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

😂 I felt every pulse on all three. I’ve done this same thing training my bounty hunters on less than lethal weapons. 90% of people instinctively comply just seeing & hearing the ZAP. The biggest issue with them is the over confidence the average untrained person feels when carrying one. In today’s world it’s like bringing a knife to a gun fight. If you don’t train your mind and body in some form of martial arts skills a stun gun isn’t going to make a big difference if confronted with an attacker. There’s just so many levels of escalation involved in confrontations and each one is different. You can go from hands on to a gun in a split second. The only way to understand this is experience. It’s impossible to tell someone what to do without them experiencing it over and over through force on force training. The adrenaline dump gets them every time in the beginning. Myself included. Until a person learns to control the adrenaline it’s just a crap shoot. Tunnel vision takes over and things go south from there. 1st time I had to draw my weapon on an individual I felt the most shaken after the event was over. I played it back in my head over and over and a million scenarios played out. That’s a normal reaction and you must go through it and process your emotions. Eventually you’ll work through it and gain the confidence to take control and the advantage of anticipating what’s coming next. I applaud your dedication and bravery. Join this guys class and learn some skills then buy your tools. Best of luck to everyone.

Hi, do this stun guns disposable? I mean how many times can i use each of them.
@Karatemart Жыл бұрын
Hi Miguel! Excellent question! All of these stun guns are rechargeable, so they should last for many years. However, if the stun gun is abused by holding down the stun feature in midair for any extended period of time, the diods and capacitors can burn out and ruin the stun gun. Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

Why don't more hand held stun guns have a wrist bracelet? I'm really clumsy & dropping it is very much a possibility. Do you have any suggestions on a hand held one with a wrist bracelet thing? The pink one would be perfect if it had a wrist bracelet & not that awful pink
@Karatemart2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lauren! That’s an excellent question! I’m not sure why more stun guns don’t have wrist straps. I’m going to guess that it’s because the larger ones typically come with holsters or clips and the smaller ones typically either fit in your pocket or hook on a keychain. I don’t really see a disadvantage to having one with a strap. We do have the Handheld Stun Gun on KarateMart.com that does have a wrist bracelet, but I’ll keep my eyes open for other models that we can carry that also have them. Thanks so much for watching!

Which stun baton would you recommend I am in between the tactical stun baton and the thunder bolt stun baton? Will be waiting for response before i place my order. Thanks for doing these demonstrations they are greatly appreciated.
@Karatemart3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kaleb! First off, thank you for your support! I really appreciate it. Of those two, I’d choose the thunderbolt stun baton. It just feels a little more solid and I like the belt clip. I personally like the combat one a little better because of its metal construction, but the thunderbolt one is great as well and honestly brought me a lot of pain in the video where I had to test it out.
@kalebstout76733 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the response I don’t think I’ve ever had someone on KZbin respond so fast! Would you recommend the combat stun baton over the thunderbolt and which has a better flashlight? I like the belt clip too and the combat baton having the belt sheath is really practical. I noticed the thunderbolt had a scroll adjustment and the other has button do they both have adjustable voltage or adjustable flashlights? I will also be ordering the stun flashlight, just seems to practical for EDC not too and your video really sold me.
@Karatemart3 жыл бұрын
@@kalebstout7673 those are excellent questions. For me, I like the combat stun baton because it feels like it is really well built and could handle some heavy striking. I’d have to compare them side by side to know which flashlight is best, but I think those two are pretty similar. I don’t know of any stun guns that have adjustable voltage, but I do know that several of the batons have different light modes. Honestly, I think you will be happy with either one of those batons, so I would just choose the one that looks most practical for you. But, definitely feel free to call up customer service tomorrow and they can probably answer more specific questions about each one. I hope that helps!
@ryansmurda1552 Жыл бұрын
Ok, so here's my question. If you were attacking someone and they stunned you like in the video and they started to run, would the stun prevent you from chasing them? And if not, how much of a recovery time would you need before you were able to chase the person that stunned you? Because the way i see it if I stunned someone who was attacking me, Im going to try and get away right after and hope that the person won't be able to catch up to me.
@Karatemart Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, Ryan! Unfortunately, that’s a very difficult question to answer and there are so many different variables at play. Stun guns are great, but it’s important to know some self defense techniques in addition to having a stun gun incase they don’t incapacitate the attacker. I’d also suggest pepper spray as well. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

I do not know a lot in self defense, but I have always viewed stun guns as tool other than a primary attack so to speak. what I mean is basically you hit them and run if it works or you use there're surprise and pain to then hit them hard and do damage then get away

Probably better than nothing and a psychological deterrent, but for non-lethal I'd prefer pepper spray. An attacker won't just walk into the gun and get zapped, and in winter time with heavy coats it'll be that much harder. But an attacker will try to disarm - hit, punch, etc. to knock the stun gun out of the defender's hands. Not to mention they could have a knife or gun. And if a female is the defender, it wouldn't be hard for the average male to use force to disarm. Bottom line is you don't want an attacker at arm's length before you can defend yourself. Pepper spray, gun or even a knife if you know how to use one.

I completely agree, Terry. They were supposed to be shocks to my lower abdomen, but they ended up being much higher. I won’t be doing anymore videos like this in the future. Thanks so much for watching!

I bought my wife a saber stun gun that states that it's 400,000 volts. I kept wondering it it would really help her, so, one night we were watching television and she was sitting on the sofa reading and I was sitting in the recliner. I had the stun gun in my hand and looked over to her, then looked at my leg, then looked at her, and looked at my leg one more time and finally shocked my leg. Christ, it hurt! I looked at her and she had that look that so many husbands has seen. She looked at what I did and instead of saying how brave that I was to check the stun gun out for her safety, she looked at me with her big lovely hazel eyes and said, "Idiot" and went back to her book. Touching, eh!

@VTPSTTU2 жыл бұрын
While I don't doubt how much that hurt, the fact that none of them knocked you down suggests that someone on drugs or someone highly motivated do harm might keep attacking. If you'd had a knife and been slashing, there's a good chance that she would have been cut. Like every other tool, stun guns have their place. I appreciate that you show their limitations. As you said, the advantage to the first one is that it doubles as a kind of push dagger or knuckle duster. The second one's biggest advantage is that it doesn't look like a weapon. Someone carrying that in a less permissive environment would be less likely to attract attention. The third one has reach and would also be useful in batting aside a knife slash. I think your test is more realistic by using a "center mass" contact. Just as firing a firearm at someone's head or neck increases the chance of a miss, trying to make contact with the head or neck increases the chance of a miss. Dodging one's head and neck to the side is easier than moving one's lower torso. A shock to the neck hurts more and might produce a knockdown, but a less ideal hit is always better than a miss.

quick question - how would these work to stun a 75-100 lb. dog? stop the attack ? incapacitate them ?

Hi Edward, I personally have no experience using one of these on an animal, but other people in the comments have mentioned using them as a deterrent from dog attacks. Thanks so much for watching!

Would like to know what systems are in each that would prevent them from accidently going off while carrying them.
@Karatemart Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, it’s been a while since I made this video, but I must not have shown off the safety systems very well. Every stun gun is different, but they all have safety switches that need to be turned on before they can be used. If you have any questions about specific ones, please call our customer service team for more info. Have an excellent weekend!

i would think a stun gun would have more of an effect on a lean muscular person with no body fat than it would on a fatter guy with more cushion and padding

Excellent question! I’ve never tried one on an animal, but we’ve had quite a few people comment on these videos that they are a good deterrent against animals. I would definitely do some more research before considering using one of these to protect yourself from a wild animal. Thanks so much for watching!

Good information! I know you suggest self-defense or martial arts training as well. I was curious if you know of any good places in the metro Atlanta area. Also, which is better self-defense training or a particular martial arts?
@Karatemart2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I personally love Atlanta and have spent quite a bit of time there, however, I’m not familiar with any of the specific schools. So many of the martial arts styles are excellent for self-defense, but you should search for an instructor that you feel very comfortable with. If you have a Krav Maga school near you, you might want to check that out. Thanks so much for watching!
@jerel21192 ай бұрын
@@Karatemart thanks for the response! I will look into Krav Maga. I just find that many of the schools tend to focus more on kata and less on real world self-defense. I was also curious your thoughts on.kali or something similar?
