yes, there are a few videos on youtube on how to do it, it is not an easy job by any means and you can damage the case if your not careful that being said you can only replace the rotating seal, you can not change the drive shaft which could be grooved and causing the seal to fail

actually no, I only use brp filters, but when they get water impacted they fall apart I thought about editing that but I figured I would leave it in, water and paper dont mix

Hey Shane, I have a 2007 800 Outy that I bought for a steal b/c it needs new cam chains and guides. I saw one of your forum posts (well, if you are "fatcat," that is) that state one can clean the oil screen w/o splitting the case (2-stroke junkies did the same thing). Anyway, I plan on trying this if you think it's a good idea. As far as I know, it was not mudded (a mountain quad from Colorado) and runs, but the chain is so loose that it skipped one tooth. The specs from the shop that broke the bad news to the original owner confirmed all of this, including: COMPRESSION 185 FRONT 165 REAR, LEAK-DOWN 3% ON BOTH. Does this sound like doable numbers? I suspect the small difference in compression could be the result of the cam-tooth issue. Any help/thoughts is much appreciated, and thanks for all the help-vids. Jim
