Sorry, don't agree. I have had some questionable plasterers in and now I do it myself. I've learnt loads by making mistakes and now I'm at a decent standard and happy with the finish. No longer will I get a plasterer in who leaves tiger stripes everywhere. Massive respect to those plasterers who are great at their craft. It's hard graft 👌🏻

Got a massive dollop in my eye last summer, I wear contact lenses and on the back stroke with a new trowel, a huge dollop splattered straight in my eye, so hard that I couldn’t even get my contact lense out as the suction from the splat wouldn’t let it, finished the set with one eye and washed it out 5 or 6 times. That night had 2 litres of saline in it and a return visit the next day. Nightmare

Sorry but you can plaster yourself, especially if your into your DIY projects. My walls are flat as fook now, few mistakes to start with but thats the same as anything new you try, compared to the previous plasterers work they did between shooting up, its a vast improvement by a novice with what was a brand new trowel...

FFS!! He’d have that Room Tapped n Filled in half the time!! Skimming is shite, Drywall should be Tapped n Filled. With Skimming you’re just covering over an already flat surface, what’s the point??!!!!!........Here in Scotland,Skimming is only done over Artex. Shine a Light over any Plastering & it’ll b up n down like a Whore’s Kinickers!!!
