@@dampsam Maybe you could do a follow up video with Pouse. Like a zoom chat or something. See how he has improved over time. Another thing would be like some KZbin shorts with tips for plasteres. Maybe a thin coat of waterered down PVA after the skim coat has gone off for a while which will help the next trade which follows. I am sure the painter decorator will appreciate it.

Do you realize there's a serious shortage of plasterers in UK, I've asked two recently for help, one said he was to busy and the other said id have to wait 6 weeks, DIY plastering ain't what you like maybe but if needs must! Funny thing, remember when the polish tiler/plasterers came to UK 20 years ago and they were great and cheaper? That's gone, the eastern European tradesmen round our area are now dearer than the local trades!

As someone who hasn't been plastering long, with the intention of doing my entire house. I'm tempted to do my own video to see your reaction 😂 I know you say just get someone in, but if I have to plaster the same wall over and over until its right, at least I'm learning. Then again even if my plastering is crap. At least I was taught to keep my tools clean and look after them.

Hi damp Sam outside wall has been injected with dry zone rods salt inhibitor but wall is still wet a moulding plaster boards

Check what the boards have been stuck on with and if they are bridging anywhere (in contact with the wet wall) also check for cold draughts if near air bricks and leaking pipes, basically could be tons of stuff

a good 5" masonry brush works best in my opinion gets more on the wall than just a roller

It’s original to do with working in a gang and systems, so if your doing a room your going away from each other not towards, Just to make things confusing it’s right to left with backing plaster

I have laughin at ur comments watching the video my dad would be like your comments. Ive skimmed a few rooms on my house and all credit to any plasteres its a tough thing to do. I found geting ur mix right made a big difference as stays on board easier. Also should you pu a bit of plaster in the board first to stop it slipping ive heard that a few times is it called priming the board but thought would ask

I think he’s mixed it thin and watery because he’s a newbie and is scared of it setting on him which is fair enough but not ideal. If you get a tub with a lid that you can screw on and use it for cleaning your whisk off but add some gravel into the tub your whisk will be spotless and you don’t need to change the water everyday. You can tell that trowels not broke in as you can hear that scraping, it’s not got a sharp edge.
