I really think City being more open is a benefit for them. Last season Pep went way too pragmatic, and even though they won the league, you could tell that the coaching and the commitment to Pep's base philosophies was not there as much. I like that Pep is trying to head to the other end of the spectrum this season, with both how forward thinking City are and the extra trust in Doku and Savinho even though he didnt play today. I think the title race won't be as close this season.

The UCL exit was a case of just a stupid stupid day from goalkeeping disasters to penalty misses to handball goals to last minute VAR drama. I know the treble winning team was the creme of the creme but the pure brilliance of every individual in the 2018/19 team was crazy. He's been in ligue 1, with PSG, by far the best and richest team in the league. So we have yet to see him be REALLY challenged when it comes to playing week in week out. I also think that he relies on his speed too much, and that when he gets to his 30s, his level will go down way quicker than haaland (since he can rely on his world class mental attributes to go up with time). Yamal is also imo a bigger talent than mbappe.

And yes i know he is a better player than yamal, what i said is that yamal at 17 is a bigger and more promising talent than mbappe was at the same age. Also a big difference between mbappe and haaland is that haaland has performed consistently in two of the best leagues itw. Meanwhile mbappe has only performed in the ligue 1, a league that is less competitive than both the bundesliga and the prem.
