ChatGPT's questions and answers are amazing. It's even a bit scary. It feels like two people discussing the future rather than an exam. A time will come when we aren't even sure whether you are the real you or just a deepfake. And when ChatGPT said AIs won't replace teachers, I think it was lying just to comfort you.

@@jessegriffin9i mean….ChatGPT doesn’t really have an identity of its own, it lacks an ego. it just uses the information from accessible resources and articles, which are written by humans, who of course do not want AI to replace them (LMAO I SAID IT LIKE I AM NOT ONE MYSELF). essentially, it is taking the most ‘politically’ correct side, something scientifically ‘approved’ or being a currently accepted trend/tendency and a widely known ‘fact’/shared opinion. something very neutral yet ‘supportive’ of humans and society, mimicking our thought pattern in a way. we all know it, but sometimes it’s important to remind ourselves as i personally tend to get weirdly parasocial with ChatGPT, expecting more than it can give, since i lack daily interactions due to my depression. AI is the future for sure, wish i had better skills and was more familiar with other ways to use it and other AI software

The bot is madly skilled to a scary, inhuman level. Regardless of the inaccuracies in its evaluation and feedback for students, you can still learn so much from interacting with the system. The level of English control that it manifests is so satisfying to watch even though I am aware that it is not ideal to replicate for natives let alone students. Such an eye-opening experience and I will definitely rewatch this video multiple times to jot down expressions, answers structure from both Chris and ChatGPT. Hell I might even save up money to enjoy practicing with ChatGPT whenever I like. It speaks better English than my friends speak Vietnamese to be honest :)))

Sir, trust me trust me I have been practicing with chatgpt and I told him exactly same things. For example, I said, dont exaggerate your answer in part one. It is inappropriate. He apologised the way he apologised to you. 2nd when I asked to take my mock he started asking multiple questions together. Then I told him to ask like an examinar and one by one. I got frustrated in part 2. I gave many mock to him and each time clearly told him to stop me when it is 2 min over. He assure me to track time but each time he did not stop me. Not for a single time. Now come to writing, the way he provide band score to me, I was shocked, then I did a trick. I copied band 8 writing from books and website and told him to provide score. He just cut out whole band score. And the funny part is when I told him, my instructor gave me 8 why you gabe me band 7 or 6.5. Then he apologise and recheck and upgrade it half or one band. These obviously I am understanding, but there are so many students who are discouraged. When I googled it, I saw people are extremely puzzled about this topic. Thank you so much for bringing it up and I hope you will highlight about chatgpt's writing band scoreing system too so that students feel less reliable towards chatgpt. You are able to reach many students. And finally I want to say, tomorrow is my LRW exam and 9th july is speaking exam. Pray for me sir. In our culture we🇧🇩 respect our teacher as like our parents as they educate us. we need more blessings from our respective teachers, you are the most humbled one according to me. Pray for me sir. I think Chris Sir, a machine language can just give hints or little assistance but it can't completely compete with the capabilities of human beings, particularly a creative and dedicated human just like you. There are some of merits and demerits of using AI, although it's help us giving hints, or little bit assist but it can't give us an accurate guidance as compare to human research based guidance. 😊 Well I appreciate that you have done this test with machine language.

Oh my god! Finally I found a confirmation that Chat GPT lowers scores when you ask him to give a feedback. I have been using ChatGPT for evaluation my IELTS essay for thirty times. This machine told me that my score is 6.5 all the time. I agree that I had mistakes there but my task achievement and coherence are quite good, I think. I address all parts of the questions, make it stupid clear and despite all of that AI scores me at band 6.5. Moreover, when I ask him to write band 9 essay he starts to write 400 words passages with very complex vocabulary like "plethora" and etc😂

I did the same thing and every time I point out a fallacy, they would reply with "Sorry for the confusion". The actual lesson is, it depends on the user how he is using the tool, the more efficiency you have in your methods the more you will be benefited. I also tested my English level in CEFR scale by Chatgpt. Write down an essay or an analysis then ask it to give the level. I wrote an personality analysis of my fvrt anime character. And Chatgpt gave me B1 level. It would be wholesome if you make another vedio on this topic!

Sir you know it is not easy to answer all the questions given by examiners! Getting 9 can be quite a challenge for an applicant whose native language is not English! And answers are not only about our English speaking skills, it is also about our ideas and outlook

I don’t know if anyone else in the comment has mentioned it. The current ChatGPT voice chat mode can’t actually “hear” you. Instead, it receive your voice and convert it into text messages. And then ChatGPT only responds you based on the text. Which means it can’t actually rate your pronunciation and fluency. Perhaps it could rate more accurately when they developed a way to enable it to actually hear voices. But I do think your points in the video make sense tho.

I’ve used ChatGPT to prepare the speaking test and it worked well. Another one I feel is much better is IELTS Duck. It is like the version you were able to get chatgpt to function properly in the end.

I was having a speaking test with chatgpt and it kept providing me with exact same band 7 score even if changed my answer to what it gave for band 9. Such a wholesome video, it makes me think from different perspectives, just blew my mind like what we think and how it works. Never fully reliant on AI tools rather than taking suggestions and developing yourself can be a better option. I mean use it, get ideas but don't trust it blindly.

You are absolutely right👍 It constantly gave me a band 6.5 for my speaking, but I got 7 on my actual test! And for the writing I always got a 6.5 using ChatGpt and scored only 6 on my real test 💔
