LMU is king of sims !!!
@rickswanracing31393 күн бұрын
You nailed it right in the last few comments “LMGT3 wont save LMU, community will”. I would argue that that’s what makes IRACING so successful for SO long. Even through graphically it’s lacking and doesn’t have sufficient “feel”. I started in iRacing, tried ACC out a little. Spent about 2 weeks on Rennsport. Then jumped onto LMU at release. Loved it. But .. found that here in the United States was very very difficult to get enough filled grids.. especially in mixed class events. Most drivers just jumped into GTE fixed and LMP2 fixed in the beginner lobbies. SO… community is what will allow it to live. And that will come through more intersted sim racers giving the game a try and putting their faith into the developers to now pull the rug out. Now… if LMU is listening… plan towards adding non-WEC tracks… or adding an Asian lemans or European lemans track series… you will get a lot more people. If you created a pseudo “IMSA” track and car option… you will be a ton more people. Growth takes time and so far I feel they are doing a great job.. keep up the momentum and it will pay off…

I'm not fully convinced about the driving experience either, kerbs feel a lot like canned effects & don't really seem to unsettle the car no matter what, FFB is a little mushy but I'm still playing with settings so hopefully I'll find a sweet spot. I'm sticking with it because it has potential, my fear is that it'll go the way of RF2, great tyre model but the rest a mess....hopefully not. Great video, by the way! :)

Le Mans Ultimate has everything I'd want from it except for a few things 1. The fact that its framerate sucks *compared to other sims* 2. Bronze is the only lobby people race on, so if you want to advance you cant race in silver because you wont get points unless the lobby is filled. Which only has the GT cars. 3. Car selection is too limited. This is a niche genre. And I will compare to Fighting games which is also a niche genre... yes it is a hardcore racing game. Like Melty Blood is a hardcore fighting game. But it is a buisness which needs to be successful to maintain itself. And it doesnt matter how good the hardcore aspect is when it comes to needing to be successful because you become successful by appealing to the casual audience. *This doesnt mean taking away the physics* the same way it doesnt mean take away fighting game mechanics. What it means is add content that appeals to casuals within the hardcore framework. Mortal Kombat is also a hardcore fighting game and sells millions and millions of more copies than melty blood because of characters. Even though Melty Blood arguably plays better. Similarly, what would save Le Mans Ultimate is if this included cars from previous decades of Le Mans History to bring all the casuals on board. Most people have Assetto Corsa and Automobilista 2 which has LMDH and GT3 cars already so from a casual perspective thats good enough, why buy Le Mans Ultimate. But if they came out with decade packs with respective tracks and cars from the era, 60's Pack with GT40/330P4 for example 30s pack with Alfa 8c Buggatti and Delahaye. That would bring casuals onboard which would save the game. Otherwise, they are going bankrupt as they claimed in their investors report by the start of next year

Thats the fanzone and we did have a ferris wheel, that big ass Toyota GR stand, where they had a Yaris Rally2(so cool), the T1+ Hilux of Lucas Moraes and a GR Yaris and a GR Corolla. I am hoping that someone comes in and either buys MSG outright, or at least Studio397 to give this game the growth it could have. I enjoy playing the game and the online racing is pretty good for early access. Yeah as you said, the LMGT3 will not save the game, but "we" as the LMU / Sim Racing community will.
@mrtom24502 күн бұрын
Good video. As to what can save it, I agree on community but I think this can be divided into online and offline player needs. I don’t know market size stats of this split, but I’d wager that some investment in the offline experience would help the sim, eg AI improvements and Championship (especially when you see likes of AMS2 being strong here). Also, improving optimisation and load times would help the sim survive as I bet there are some who struggle to run it (ie lost customers, who may go to the likes of AMS2 or RR instead). For me I have a love/hate relationship with LMU. I love the driving albeit have struggled with the brakes at time (so good to hear this is improving). And it might be me, but I still have some setup issues for correct FFB, reactivity of pedals/wheels. But overall I enjoy the driving. And it looks great. But I often come away feeling frustrated: sometimes from game performance and lagging, but normally from the AI - I don’t know if it’s my settings, but I can find them a bit dull to race against (not much defending) but then at times too hostile with divebombs or knocking me off-track. I get AI is hard to programme and it might just be my settings (would welcome any tips here) but it does halt my fun at times and leave me frustrated. But I’ll still come back to try this new content!

I cant believe this game is still early access. Whens the release? What content comes with the release version?. How much is it? How many more features are being worked on before its ready? This is the trouble with this very bizzare launch?? . Reviews are all over the place as the game changes not many people one are doing re reviews. They are doing 5 hour streams on release and you have to dig through all that to get an idea of is it ready to buy yet? The pricing, the early acess, the dlc, the subscription. . All seems proper weird to me
@m4ch3te3 күн бұрын
The content of the release version (2023 season) is already there. DLCs with 2024 conent were announced before February release. Early Access is just a name and lower price point at this point cause the game is much more refined than ACC on release for example. For me the game could've been 1.0 in September, but I guess they are working on the drivers swaps before full release. Maybe they will add career mode, cause they noticed that its a popular request in the community. What i like about LMU, except for physics, is that the paid content doesnt lock you out of the multiplayer cause there's always a 2023 track in all of the rotations. Also subscription is purely for highly competitive championship mode with stewarding so it doesnt mean anything for causal daily races.
@gizmo104drives73 күн бұрын
@m4ch3te hey man thanks for reply. What I understood was the game is pre release with very little content and the price would increase upon a full launch with a bit less barebones content. So ur saying that what comes with the pre release is all your gna get with full launch and you will have to buy almost everything else seperately as a dlc as you do now.. you don't get a lot as standard really

To be honest, I have been really against LMU from the begining as RF2 piss me off. I have bought the early access as a fan of the WEC, but for sure so many issues from it (same as RF2). That was until they have fixed most of the bug I had ! Right now it just works and I must say I really enjoy it ! Now I can even say I prefer it over Iracing. The player base is reallt low (500 / 700 per day), but I always had people when I want to race, so ... I think their proposal for subscription is honest but they need a bit more success right now. May be I would have wait for 6 month to see if more people come and enjoyed it before sending it. May be good choice may be not we will see.

No TL. Walls? No TL. This would solve the issue. TL in LMU are 4 wheels beyond white line regardless what's beyond the white line. Just give a look at how AMS2 deals with TL. If you get a TL in AMS2 you immediately think "It's my fault". A lot more anjoyable. Also LMU own Online races are what they are, there are no championships, and a little user base. So I lost it even though it has the better physics and high quality standards for tracks and models.

I'm surprised that a monthly subscription seems to be twice the price a month when taking year subscription. You said 8$ race control pro and 14$ race control pro + per month with monthly subscription. A year subscription is 48$ race pro and 84$ race pro + with equals respectively to 4$ a month and 7$ a month if i divide by 12. I won't complain before being sure but it seems like forcing for year subscription, which i don't like.

I'm so sick of subscriptions. It's getting old. Ill stick to ACC

I've been searching for not as expensive alternative to iracing for such a long time, tried to put my time into ACC but the handling just feels weird and I cannot get 100% into it. Then tried rf2, raceroom, ams2 and the list goes on. None of them just hit the same as iRacing. Should have invested my money into iRacing in the beginning, could have had a nice collection by now for the money spent on games I'm not gonna be playing.

ams2 is superior, let it burn

So Le Mans Ultimate needs saving? So your suggesting it need to be saved? There's nothing wrong with it. It's awesome. Your arrogance is bewildering, especially for a channel owned by Motorsport games the owners of 397 and thusly the creators of LEU. Could the GT3 save Le Mans Ultimate? What a clown. Nice pony tail, do they do those for men?

Subscription? To a MSG title?!?! Hahahaha no.
@Yesterzine3 күн бұрын
One thing that immediately makes me suspicious is how much cheaper a year is than a monthly. Because MSG need money NOW and need to bribe people into buying a 12 month subscription to a company that might not be around in 6.

How is it overpriced? For 80 dollars you get content that would literally cost you 300 dollars on iRacing. And that content is actually faithfully recreated vs the half-assed hybrid implementation on the Hypercars

@@ErwinLiszkowicz LMU has what .01% of the player base too, lowest steam numbers of any racing game at one point it was the lowest played game for 4 months straight. Still has lower player count than games 5 years old

@@JosephFryer-j8m and? 600 people are playing it right now, you think they care about your whining? if you're fine with something else all power to you. I don't like paying 100 dollars a year to get GTP 'simulation' in which cars go 50kph faster through T1 at Sebring than the real ones.

I dont understand the title, lmu is not falling down, U better make a video called "does the new FFB and working on a dirt racing game can save iRacing "
