I made the pork and it was delicious! Tried it with a lamb shoulder and it was a big no no! Lamb was chewy and definitely needs to stay slow roasted for a yummy dinner. Lovely video as always Susannah! Thank you. 😊

When using steam air fry function for the chicken, was the vent open or closed? I’m always a bit confused as to what to do using this function. 😊

Thanks Nik, I will stick to pork, and bung the lamb in the slow cooker, in fact I have a breast of lamb which I'm going to put in the slow cooker all day, at some point

You did well with that! I think I would do some things separately otherwise I would be stressed out! But great to know it can be done without other machines!

Hi Susannah, I just cooked a chicken with roasties this way, without the Yorkshires or broccoli, they came out lovely. Thanks for the video showing us just how simple to cook a roast chicken dinner in the Ninja is.

A great video of a meal most Brit’s adore. Nice to have a healthy version. I think if the potatoes had more oil on them and seasoning put in a sandwich bag and shook well so they were coated in oil they would have browned more. And maybe rotated half way. But a healthier roast is no bad thing. As then you can have them twice as often ❤️

Before putting roast potatoes in, toss them in oil, salt and teaspoon of paprika, game changer. Your meals are fab. I made soup and bread just so lovely.

I noticed in the video that the default settings for Steam-Air Fry are 200° for 20 minutes. When you switched to the Chicken pre-set for the probe, did that impact on the temperature and duration of the cooking? I'm not quite sure, but I think the temperature of 200° was kept when cooking with the probe, but the time setting of 20 minutes became irrelevant.
@susannahskitchen7 ай бұрын
Thats right it cooks to temperature rather time.

Suzanne my foodie doesn’t have the same settings as yours/on my side to the right I have air fry , grill Bake roast/dehydrate/proof/sauté steam/slow cook/ yoghurt. I’m thinking the setting for roast chicken would be on my machine-roast/bake . .?

@@AnnetteJackson-fl3ns Hi, I see… you must have a different model. You can either air fry or bake a chicken. Both will work well. Do you have pressure cook? You can also tender-crisp which is pressure cook first and air fry to finish
@AnnetteJackson-fl3ns5 ай бұрын
@@susannahskitchen yes I have pressure cook

When cooking chicken and roasts is the vent on seal or vent…. Does that make sense
@susannahskitchen9 ай бұрын
Hi, the pressure valve is only used when pressure cooking. Seal to come to pressure and it automatically vents or you can manually do this. If you are using steam (steam air fry, steam roast etc) then it’s not required. I hope that helps
@Hai-u9e9 ай бұрын
Amazing honestly we are a family of 8 and I cooked a 2 kilo chicken mash and roasts all in the pot! Then pressured cooker the veg! All in an hour unbelievable, completely agree with the comment about roasts I prefer my own roasts in the oven but theee were nice enough and the mash made with Kallo organic veg stock and it was delicious!

Strange, I just followed this exactly but when I selected steam air fry it went from 6 to the 75 degrees target in 3 minutes, so I done it manually for 35 mins then decided to try finishing it on steam bake which seemed to work ok

@@AlPacino666 blimey that’s not good. Sounds like your probe is faulty

@@susannahskitchen it must have been me, I've just used the probe to grill two big, thick steaks on medium rare and they came out pretty much restaurant quality so I'll have to watch your video again 😂

Your recipes are an inspiration to me and I am now thinking of getting this but as I am on my own do you think I can do these recipes on the 11in 1 6litre Ninja Foodie?
@susannahskitchen10 ай бұрын
Hi, I believe the functions that the 11-in-1 doesn't have are Prove, Steam Bread, Steam Meals & Steam Roast. You would still be able to do all of the pressure cook, slow cook, steam air fry, air fry bake recipes. It doesn't have the probe. Unless baking bread in it is really important and you really want the probe then I would go with the 11-in-1. It's personal preference so I don't want to sway you but I think it's a good smaller version
