Not trusting someone over giving the wrong amount of toilet paper there is in the bathroom is insane. On top of not wanting to go back to therapy because “there isn’t anything to talk about”. Run sis. And never look back. Let him play with someone else.

@@cpwwjd69 Right. And to not want to get things resolved is a huge red flag. Cuz he’ll just complain that things aren’t improving and use that as ammo to be even more mad it’s like but you’re keeping things that way. It’s very manipulative. But let him tell it, he’s the victim.

There's no such thing as a perfect marriage or relationship; each one is special. What makes one person happy might not make another person happy. But I've realized that there's always a way to solve problems. Five years ago, my wife and I were almost getting divorced because we had problems in our marriage, but we managed to sort things out. It was a difficult time, but we got through it

I agree 100% with Glen. There’s no world in which her not having/knowing an exact number is considered deceitful. He is manipulating her into a position where she has to function in a place of fear of his responses. He needs to go to grow up and go to therapy.

I loved this episode. This is my situation of 13 yrs. My health took a turn postpartum while my husband was simultaneously giving me the silent treatment. I was 6 weeks postpartum. He hadn't talked to me for 5 weeks and completely drained our bank account with no explanation. I got our 5 kids and bounced. I was not about to stick around to see where this was headed. That was last Nov and he doesn't even call his children. This behavior was there all along but intensified over the previous 4 yrs and the months leading up to me leaving he really applified. He even started explaining to me in detail, how would manipulate people. It's was really disturbing to witness

And we appreciate Glen's analogies as well. Firstly, it makes for a great podcast. And personally, it saves my brain from having 10.000 questions when something has been said. Glen conveys a concept and the sentiment very well. Kudos for that.

Emotional immaturity is a whole thing. Intended or not, psychological trauma for the other spouse is the result. Even though someone doesn’t know they are being emotionally abusive, the partner feels and experiences the abuse. How long should someone “endure” psychological abuse and/or manipulation before it isn’t psychological abuse/manipulation (🤔). I hope that this woman finds the clarity she needs to understand her next steps.

GREAT episode, went fast I had to check the time when Yvette said hmay. Many takeaways, don't ignore red flags in relationships, unless the husband concealed this behavior for the 3 yrs prior to marriage, don't proceed to intimate levels with people showing signs of immature behavior, if they don't mature that's a hellish, emotionally depleting existence. Trust God, WAIT, choose wisely. Grace and peace 🙏🏾

12:06 Interesting intro thus far… ways of communication are different which is normal for most people. It’s interesting that he mentions when he has feelings or thoughts, he isolates (as mentioned with his parents as well), so does this feeling exist towards his parents too? Continuing to listen…

I agree what you guys said, but the play the devil's advocate...What if the husband is on the Autism/ Asperger's spectrum and he takes everything literally and perceives everything literally. Even as an adult many people haven't been diagnosed, especially if his parents were pretty passive and isolating in his childhood.

He has trust issues.....so while she may feel as though she's never given him a reason to believe she's cheated on him. she has to understand because of his inability to trust her that alone is a reason for him to believe she's capable of cheating and no matter how hard she try to be that perfect spouse her efforts will always go unnoticed because he will always focus on the times she left something out or the times she forgot to inform him of something. He has issues that only a professional can help with. She's going to be miserable in that marriage.

It’s sad she’s asking how she can regain his trust because he has managed to convince her the problem is with her. He is establishing a narrative that she is the problem, she’s the liar for tiny mundane things that happen in every living. If i say I’m going to get milk but come back with a few more items according to him I’m a liar. That is so wild! He’s nuts!

I wonder if the wife is deceptive?? Like, hey I'ma go grab a pair of shoes from the mall.....then she come back with a few pairs and outfit. Another thing we can take into consideration is introversion and extroversion. This is regarding his wanting quiet to figure it out. Feels dysfunctional but the root may be just not wanting to talk.

He sounds emotionally abusive, manipulative, and insecure on some level. It's likely he had those issues from before and it's just coming out in the marriage and his wife is getting the brunt of it. She's getting the blame for how he feels while he takes no accountability, when in fact his feelings are because of his internal issues.

I think he may also have associated the miscarriages as her fault. He may be angry with her for not being able to carry his children and so he has found a way to treat her how he feels without saying that directly because he knows that may be too cruel....but what he is doing now is also very cruel. Goes back to what Glen said about him not being able to communicate and being emotionally immature. Everything is about him and for him and when it's not the way he wants it he pulls one of those numbers. Just my thoughts. Ask her for an update regarding that specifically....see what she says.
