Thanks for letting me play on your account MayerDowa! Turns out you kinda fixed it yourself, but lmk if you want more specific recommendations than I gave in this video! Maybe I will try to revisit a hacked account whose owner hasn't had time to fix it themselves in the future. I will have to watch for submissions that have an account that is not low AR, since that may be an opportunity to fix a true disaster level account lol. Actually now that I think about it my deletion of all of my 5 star weapons from Weapons Only may be a similar situation to being hacked... Also yes it took so long to make this video mostly due to procrastination (and the fact that it takes an awful amount of time to comb through submissions and contact different people)

Back in 1.3, my account got hacked due to my account email/password appearing in a massive data breach. I only noticed this because my SIGNATURE had been changed to “acc hacked, change password” or something. My heart sunk because I was so confused as to how that happened. NOTHING else on my account was even touched. I still had my 20k primos saved, still had all of my weapons and artifacts, and nothing was otherwise out of the ordinary. The only answer I could think of was that someone had used that information to log into my account and warn me so that any actual malicious hackers couldn’t do real damage. I’m not sure who or where you are, mysterious hacker, but I am forever indebted to you.

The hacker doesn't gain anything. Its just someone's time and effort that has been wiped out. Its purely malicious intent, without any gain and i hate that.

this solution would probably sound stupid because it's a video game, but it could be a life saver if Genshin had an optional 4-6 digit pin lock when trying to delete 5 star weapons. when these weapons could cost hundreds of dollars I'm sure some people may appreciate it as an option in case of hackers gain access, or they trust the wrong people with their account.

Yeah I dont disagree. I also dont get why Hoyo doesnt have some kind of save states on their server for the state of an account. Like it shouldnt be that hard to implement a system to allow players to rollback their account to help with issues like deleted weapons. But maybe that doesnt exist because if it did people would ask for a rollback when they ended up making a bad decision and use their pity to get a 5 star they dont want…

Honestly, I agree, I’ve been hacked in Genshin, my password wasn’t saved in iCloud or anything (it’s on the inside of my old iPads case, and it’s completely different to any of my other passwords) luckily it was when I was ar like 27, they did use all of my wishes on standard (I think I gave like 100 and smth saved up) apparently I got a skyward harp n skyward atlas, I don’t play on the again but if I had dedicated a lot to that account I would have been devastated.

@@Solunerra realistically I could see that holding 5 or more states per account would probably require like an unrealistic upscaling of their servers. holding all that extra data, especially when it's doesn't effect 99% of the userbase, could fill hard drives unnecessary. I'm not 100% sure, I'm not a networking engineer, but it seems like potentially a lot of work on the backend, especially if they didn't prep for it.

@Solunerra isn't save state and rollback looks a bit problematic? At it's core, this is an exploring and gacha type of game. The exploration aspects doesn't get benefits from having save system, while people can abuse the save system so much for gatcha related stuff like spending primos or rolling artifact. I think lock system is much better than save load data system

a better solution could be more like, if they have proof of owning said items (screenshots of the weapon, pull history, outside sources like hoyolab or enka that show said weapon, and if primos were used there’s a thing on hoyolab saying how many primos you got over a time) then hoyo could give them the items and materials to level them. or at the very least the deleted items. primogem stuff might be more finicky but yeah, I don’t think a rollback is that possible or easy as others have said

The protection segment is so important, it's good that you included it. I just recently also learned the hard way... my Gmail hacked last week, and subsequently... most my gaming accounts that shared the same password. Thankfully I got them back and my Genshin acc was untouched. I now use password managers and 2FAs/authenticator apps. Even having a separate email just for Genshin (or whatever site) that you don't use for anything else is a nice way to stay safe.

My account was hacked about a year ago (I had stopped playing by then), decided randomly to try to recover my account and got it. Apparently they sold my account and someone else was playing, they even made sure to farm primos and pull for characters (Got kinich, Chiori and Jean) and do archon quests. Nice to be back to the game after a long time & I'm doing the archon quests that I missed on my new account (Ar 47)

12:38 something interesting about shimenawa’s on Childe is that his burst in ranged mode refunds 15 energy, allowing him to activate the passive when starting rotations with burst. It is pretty scuffed, but on some teams, like national with Xingqiu, he can get his burst back to start the next rotation and repeat the process. Def don’t recommend unless the sub stats are ridiculously good though

Something i want to add even though Sir. Soluna said in the video - 1. Dont lose hope if ur account got hacked , contact HOYOVERSE support. I mean it only they can support you to the end. 2. Also save ur account screenshot like a picture of ur character archive or weapons anything, it will help for the support team 3. Use password manager it can literally change ur life . I don't have to remember a dang password.

They won't do a specific account rollbacks as far as I understand. So, if the hackers deleted your items, you're cooked basically. But do have a screenshot of your account though, specifically your amber's joined date, UID, mora estimation, and most importantly, a receipt if you ever bought anything in genshin. I'd suggest to buy just 1 welkin for your account, people doesn't know this but if you ever bought something in genshin, you practically secures your ownership of the said account.

After going to customer support with a list of my characters and their levels, talents (yes, I was that addicted) i got my account back. I found out the hacker got into my email and sold my account to another person since I saw my benched Ayaka at Lv. 90, and a DPS Venti. Finally put 2FA on everything and just laugh every time there's a login attempt that's not from me.

What they probably meant by fixing it was what they could do to have similar amounts of damage to when they had 5* weapons. Like Ayaka has constellations. She has her best team mates (Kokomi was never really required anyway) and constellations, but no mistsplitter. But the thing is that when you gut the 5* BiS weapons from characters, their damage will take a hit that can't be brought back.

my account got hacked at the start of this year (by someone I knew) and what makes it even worse is this: they deleted everything I had regarding food, ores, ingredients, talent books etc. BUT, you cannot delete 5 star artifacts or 5 star weapons, so if someone does this to you, it means they have some time on their hands, because you would need to use those weapons and artifacts to ascend other weapons/artifacts (for ex: using a lvl 90 5 star weapon to upgrade a one star weapon so you lose it). that's what happened to me.

No they just don’t offer rollbacks, they don’t give items back that got thrown away if you get hacked. Their whole thing is “don’t share your passwords” and past just helping with password reset / changing email they don’t help all that much if you get hacked it’s unfortunate but also people would probably lie and get free stuff if they did offer rollbacks, which is likely the reason they do not

@@avampirezwish The only exploitation of the system I see is trying to get better luck on the gacha. "Do a bunch of wishes and if it goes really bad get a rollback and try again." Yet there are effective ways to mitigate system exploitation. 1 Verify the veracity of the hack by looking at the access location, IPs and devices etc... 2 Warn of potential account termination if a clear exploitation attempt is detected. 3 Do partial rollbacks were only some items are restore like only accessories or only materials etc... 4 Only offer 1 rollback per year. 5 Only offer rollbacks for accounts that are above AR 50 and with more than 100 active days.

Dont share your password, and use a password manager to have different accounts that all have different randomized passwords. Thats kinda it, honestly. (Which is what I said in the beginning section of the video basically, but with more explanation) And use two factor authentication, though most services often require that nowadays.

Link your phone and your email, also try to link other third party like PS, game center, FB, and twiter I believe. That saved my account when a Russian tried to get in my account even though I never shared my info or clicked anything. Another tip is don’t use the same name as your username in game.

"My account was hacked" is just another way to say "I was stupid and let someone else log in into my account." I've played several online games and people sharing their passwords was the main cause of "hacked" accounts in all of them. Given how the "hacker" deleted weapons and artifacts, I'm certain that this player lent his/her account to someone and that person turned out to be an a-hole. How to not get hacked? Don't be stupid.

my account was hacked cuz a friend had my email and by downloading a virus some russian ppl got in her pc and hacked everything including my acc that was trashed. she didn't even had my genshin, so no, it's not that simple. it was a virus and there as nothing I could do about it.
