In real life, LMP1/LMH cars have more acceleration and straight line speed than a F1 car, thanks to a better hybrid system and the AWD.

Yeah probably they run more than 211mph on straights.. But consider this.. This was just like a qualifying lap. So A F1 car with Less fuel load, maximum attack, max ers boost, whatever setup that driver is comfortable with.. Less wing Slipstream, DRS, Should make a f1 car to Atleast make 220 mph on straights.. I was quite surprised but still i would like to consider the downforce which f1 cars have that helps them to be more quicker than LMP1...

@@aniketmeshram6598 That's because the engineers design a F1 thinking about all the tracks of the calendar. Short 8 gear ratios, a lot of turns and braking zones. Meanwhile, endurance prototypes are designed mainly to run in Le Mans, that means high speeds. So, they need only 6 or 7 gears with long ratios (not only to achieve high speeds, but also to improve fuel consumption and reliability), less drag, and more hybrid capacity to exit the curves faster and improve fuel consumption too.

speaking about old lmp1H like toyota TS050 and porsche 919, they had better acceleration for sure because of AWD during hybrid boost and a massive release of torque and >1000hp power, but better straight speed nope... if you compare speed trap in tracks like silverstone, spa and bahrain, f1 have a way better top speed than lmp1H... at spa raidillon, lmp1H were in the range of 310-315km/h as best qualifying top speed, f1 can easily and regularly go >330km/h in race condition without even using drs. Nowadays LMH are heavy as fuck and hybrid boost got a huge cut since overall power release now can't overcross 670-700hp, indipendently if comes only from ICE like glickenhaus 007 or ICE+ERS like toyota GR010. LMH acceleration is way worse than f1 cars considering LMH are about 300kg heavier than f1 and their max power output is >100hp lower than power f1 gets from their ICE alone.

F1 cars are still known to have gone faster on straights. However the 2017+ cars might be slower but then again they are absolute monsters in corners.

Current F1 cars even in their least DF settings can barely hit 340kph after a super long straight and DRS open. As a race start, The F1 car will be much more lethargic than in qualifying mode.

Modern LMP1h carried too much downforce to be that fast on the straights but they should still be faster than F1 when your remove the ballast.

Imo the lmp1 has less acceleration than a F1 car so F1 cars can reach the top speed in no time. When the lmp1 cars have reached the top speed, the F1 car might have already zoomed away on the straights.

People talking about how the f1 car wouldnt last in Le mans, however, no one is talking about another factor, the driver. Considering how physically demanding f1 is due to the lack of technological advancements (such as power steering, or any other power assistance like brakes), it is physically impossible for a set of 3 drivers to complete a 24 hours of le mans in an f1 car, even if it could last.

Nothing is impossible. There are a lot of straights at Le Mans, whereas it's the corners that are taxing, particularly long sustained corners, which Le Mans doesn't really have. I reckon 3 F1 drivers could manage it with a bit of extra preparation. After all, they do several hours of driving in pre season testing. The car is the problem, though I don't think it would take much to get an F1 car to last...would lose a little outright performance though.

Not even the total amount of hours from preseason testing, especially with the fact it's not constant hours of driving in the testing, adds up to how much they will have to do on track. It's just really crazy to think about how much effort is really needed to work in these conditions
