Okay guys, we have some exciting news. This is the first part of a new series Rachael will be working on called Project Profit. Throughout this series, she'll be finding second-hand items, whether they cost very little or no money that could be on the side of the road, Facebook marketplace, at the thrift store, and bring you through the process of how she upcycles them to give them a fresh new look. After upcycling them, she will be trying to sell them on marketplace for a profit, which will then be donated to a charitable organization. In this first episode, Rachael is turning two matching side tables she got for $15 into 4 new side tables to sell them.

A tip, when you want to use a "pop of color", but want to play it a bit safe and appeal to a wider audience, ALWAYS go green! A soft sage works for many. Regardless of if you go dusty, pastelly or bright

My studio tutor used to buy wood glue/PVA in bulk and put them in those kitchy ketchup bottles. It meant using less plastic, it was cheaper, and you could refil the ketchup bottles so it was easier to squeeze as there was less air in the bottle. Hope that helps!

I'd paint them a different color although the blue is cute it reminds me of a kids room or fun house. The other ones looked so expansive you totally could have sold for more but it was a very good profit. You could totally do them again in a light stone color I'm sure they'd sell fast

I hope the buyers won‘t get mad when they see what the items cost to make 😅 I like the mdf tables, i hope you get a good price for them. The problem is mdf furniture is so common (so ikea), it would take something really unique to generate more interest in them. One idea would be to add a detail that would give the tables an additional function. I suggest a small hole on a corner of each tabletop where you can fit in a small glass container that can serve as a flower vase.

I don't see why you'd be mad that someone didn't spend much on the materials for your tables... 1. They're paying for the work to make them, plus the creativity to design them 2. everything she got for free would have to be paid for if they wanted to make the tables themselves

The lacquered tables are such a pretty color. I know it's an aesthetic, but making things genuinely look valuable might be an issue for this series. The lamps from previous videos would probably do well, but it's harder to sell stuff that looks like particle board or plastic, even if it's cute.

Great tables, the blue lacquer ones were more my taste so I'm surprised they didn't sell. I did see that you had priced them at $70 in the ad, so maybe that's why? Would prefer to have a conclusion to the project with how much they sell for in the episode but I kinda understand the want to upload quickly after a project is done. A charity dear to my heart is Ocean Conservation Namibia where they save seals trapped in ocean plastic. A small team who have already saved over 500 seals just this year! They have a KZbin channel you could direct people to to help raise awareness too
