Since no one has mentioned it, the side orange pieces on the proton (that look like the diatron, vigilon, and praxis) actually return the rear loading mechanism, only the back piece on top ejects jams.

A little off topic but if you painted the revonix 360 tan/black, you could make it look like a grenade launcher (just add a stock) I know the revonix 360 is a pain in the side to take apart without breaking it but I think you have dealt with more difficult tasks. If you are able to pull this off, you will have a unique foam flinger on the field. After all, this is just an idea you could probably do this with another blaster like that new in not rotofury you have but the rear loading is what has my vote for the revonix 360

The lever on the proton is a slide release lever, when the slide is locked back fliping that lever will close the slide

I'm surprised there are Vortex blasters that don't use Torsion springs - I was really shocked at the Ripshot using a tension spring, of all things. It's a shame spring upgrades for vortex blasters are almost impossible (Finding torsion springs are a lot harder than compression springs) but they do have some mod potential, at least. If only decrappification (lock removal) and moving the torsion spring ends to get more power.

On the proton, after you pull back the slide and insert the disk, press the button on the side, and the slide slams forward..very gratifying.

The diatron uses a torsion spring it's just next to the barrel with a large slapper. It's most broken part is a lock and the priming handle. Besides that repositioning the springs really up the power and mandates reinforcing the catapult arm lest it break. I can get most of the locks out of a revonix and clear jams, but much after that I won't even attempt. The vortex blaster have a cool mechanic that I've seen expert users put to devastating effect. They can bank the shots around cover. Biggest down side is that it's a slow round at range, easy to dodge if you notice.

The lever on the side of the Proton is not a jam release but rather it releases a catch on the priming slide so that once you have loaded a disc into it it finishes loading without you having to force it shut.

Just a FYI: the two flaps on either side of a Proton are actually "slide release" and not for unjamming. You push them after you pull out the loading tray!

Extension springs to no work at all in Plunder tube blasters. At least not ones that are designed for compression springs. You would have to do some incredible internal mods to be able to power a plunger blaster with an extension spring. Or some hideous external mods....hmmmm...

Chaylo, you are using the Proton incorrectly. The 2 red levers (1 on each side) are meant for loading the sled back into the blaster after you place a disk. You pull the sled open, place a disk, press the lever, aim and fire. You don't need to shove the sled forward.

Hey captain Xavier I have a boomco pistol that I tried to mod and failed. I had two doubled the spring load by putting one spring in another and doubling it up. It worked! It didn't get the performance I expected and I check the seal and found a horrible one. After electrical taping it pooped out darts. I also had to change the catch spring with the tac-rail spring (I lost the other one) and it performed the same. Please help.

You probably over did the seal improvement. If you are not really careful you create too tight a seal and the plunger cannot move fast enough.

Sherlock gamer Seal might be too tight, causing drag in the barrel as opposed to creating a tighter seal. Try removing some of the tape and use teflon tape instead. One or two wraps around should help.
