Thank you, and mostly through just seeing the immense talent and poor body language. I've been critical of other QBs like Baker, but he's never had bad body language, just over-intensity on the field. That sounds like a good problem to have though haha, I get how it could be frustrating, but as the comment below mentioned, it is how you respond and control the narrative. The players who have the toughest time with the media are the ones who are the most indignant and vocal towards them, so they attract bad press. I think we forget how even when we're kids in school, if a teacher likes you, they'll bump you up a few percent or down depending on how you treat them, because they're humans too. Bears Fan here. Jay could have done more to be a leader if he wanted, but it wouldn't have mattered. The leader of those teams was Brian Urlacher. Nothing Jay would have or could have done would have supplanted that. He also had 6 different OCs for 6 different offenses in 7 years as a Bear. The year he was playing his best, 2013, he got hurt making a tackle on a turnover showing he did not quit on the team and that he cared. I was at the 2010 NFC championship game. Maurice Jones Drew in one of the first viral moments of sports social media, sent out his tweet about Jay quitting during the game and everything else spiraled from there. Because he was "aloof" everyone else piled on and because there was no play that could pinpoint when it happened, the questions started. Despite every Bears coach saying the next day he had a torn MCL and that he tried to play on it and that he convinced them to let him start 2nd half to try it out because it was the champ game, the damage was already done. Was he perfect, no. Did he disappoint, yes. But he doesn't deserve the criticism he gets for that play.

I distinctly remember Jay Cutler on the sidelines using an exercise bike during that game, after he had been pulled. Pretty sure that is the kind of thing a trainer has an injured athlete do. I'm being pretty reasonable considering how angry I was at the time. The Packers didn't even deserve a playoff berth that season, much less a Super Bowl; Bears just decided not to show up in Week 17. I witnessed the NFC championship game as a Chicago burb senior in HS, and in that moment I thought Jay quit. You forgot the Todd Collins part, and BJ Raji. It was also later diagnosed that Jay partially tore his MCL. It didn’t help that Cutler was caught walking Rodeo with Kristen the Monday after the game…. I’ve talked to a few very football experienced coaches, and the MCL injury was very legitimate. If Jay wasn’t hurt that bad, he would’ve played. You need your MCL to move

This was an amazing video based on facts and not opinions now could you make a vid on the adjustments Kliff Kingsbury made to his offense and how that affected Kyler Murray? @joericottone Жыл бұрын
Well then you got tricked because it was mostly opinions and not facts. None of this was about productivity or skill, just leadership and character, thank you for watching
@choosecarefully408 Жыл бұрын
This is *all opinion.* That Murray is like Cutler in attitude is _opinion_ as well as that the opinions of others should be taken into consideration. Am I the only person who remembers how Murray scored that game-winning 2-point conversion 100% on his own against the Raiders last season? Some apathy. There: I just destroyed opinion with actual fact. The premise here is _clearly_ wrong. Murray has had *nothing* handed to him. He's been insulted & still is from day one just because of his height. So he's here to prove himself _his way!_ & if some players find that this makes him less of a team player, that is _not _*_important!_* He's not there for their morale on _or off_ the field! This is one of the things Andrew Luck cited as a reason for retiring, the Immense Pressure put upon him to live his Entire Life like he's Always On The Field. That's a False Expectation, not a responsibility.
@joericottone Жыл бұрын
Well it’s impossible that he scored that 2pt conversion on his own because his line gave him enough time to maneuver behind the LOS, so there, I just destroyed your point with a fact. If you were a GM and you had the choice between kyler the is the way he is now, or kyler but he has the leadership qualities of a manning or brady, who would you choose? You also referenced Andrew Luck in defense of Murray, Luck retired because he couldn’t handle that responsibility that is required to hold that position. And how about Jalen Hurts? Maybe the ULTIMATE leader of the new Gen and got to a Super Bowl in his first 3 years as a second round pick who had to work to improve his shortcomings. Leadership matters and when you make more money than everyone, you have to set the standard
@choosecarefully408 Жыл бұрын
@@joericottone I often very deliberately say things a certain way to lure people towards a specific reaction. I realize there is an o-line. The point is, you're trying to prove that Murray is apathetic. So that he made all that effort to score the 2 points was the issue that undoes your premise. Whether the o-line helped is irrelevant to it. Thanks for playing.

The biggest problem was the front office. It was a let’s make everyone happy and not hold any accountable type of office. The GM was horrible. Sucked a drafting and the good people he did draft he would let them walk ( Hassan Reddick , Tyron Mathieu few examples). The disrespect he gave Pat P which cost him to leave to Minnesota. Trading the first round pick last year for Hollywood. Not hating on Hollywood but it was completely unnecessary. You had decent WR room and tight ends. You could of easily lasted the 6 games without him. Also I hate how no one holds D-Hop accountable. Screwed his team with the PED suspension last year. And in 2021 both him and Kyler got injured except Kyler played through his and Hop got injured again. Also on the note that he he sat out the last games of last year season he didn’t play either. The coach sucked. His scheme was pretty much “ Kyler go be special “. The only reason they had a shot at winning any game was because of Kyler. Yes Kyler attitude was annoying at times but the whole team had a bad attitude. And we won’t even know if it is Kyler the problem because he is injured. So if Kyler wants to prove everyone wrong the sooner he comes back the better. Even if they loose and he proves he controls the offense. Having a good coach matters. Like a Josh Allen. Everyone was about to write him as a bust but here comes a good coach and now he is 1 of the top 3 quarterbacks in the league. Kyler needs someone to correct him and someone he respects as a coach. Hopefully Gannon is the one

Cutler is actually somewhat more of an opposite effect for football fans. For one we fans compare him to not caring about the sport. When he obviously does. And two never shows his emotions. That wasn't until we as fans saw him beat Tom Brady as a Dolphin. Showing us that he always had passion for the game. And Kyler is more like an opposite of Cutler. Where we see emotion from him. Franchise Killer? The Bears franchise was already killed when Cutler got there and he's proved to be the best qb they've had since Sid Luckman. They rotated in so many different OC's on him and offensive systems and personnel while he was there so he could never get used to one system, all without ever giving him a good O line, and he was getting sacked relentlessly but always took the hits, got up, and kept playing, and it finally looked like with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey, it was all coming together to make some deep playoff runs, but Marshall was a damn head case and became a cancer in the locker room and they had to trade him. Sure Cutler had a bit of an apathetic attitude, but as far as talent goes, he was the best qb they have had, Fields not included. I believe Cutler takes Denver to the Superbowl eventually if he isn't traded to the Bears.

I've been living in the Chicago-land area for just about 40 years and I think you did a pretty good job here. Apathy is definitely the word that comes to mind when I think of Jay. Extreme arm talent and unrealized potential equals Jay Cutler. I think Cutler's career would of turned out completely different perception-wise if he wins a super bowl for the Bears though. I think if Jay Cutler had a prime Deandre Hopkins in 2010 we might have gotten to the super bowl that year... I'm not saying you're wrong about Cutler at all just that we had one of the worst receiving corps in history that year. With just a little bit more on offense that defense was good enough to at least beat the Packers in the NFC championship... that game was close even with Caleb Hanie under center. I don't think it changes much for Cutler as a player in reality but perception-wise, it's a completely different narrative. If Murrary can get this team to a super bowl things will change pretty fast for him... perception-wise. In reality, he probably remains an aloof dee bag. just like Jay. Cutler still comes on the radio (espn 1000) from time to time... you can tell he doesn't care about anything, but it's hilarious. He's actually a pretty funny guy and you can also tell he doesn't like talking about football.

Excellent video. Cardinals organization has been a train wreck for years - including in St. Louis. Caleb Williams fits their destructive choices, too - he choked down the stretch and backed into the Heisman trophy. His maturity has to be questioned too - remember the bowl game performance (Tulane, - yes Tulane) and his knuckles? Seems like the prototype Cardinals draft pick.

Only a matter of time before the Cardinals are forced to eat Murray's albatross of a contract and they tank for Caleb Williams... who is also a Lincoln Riley QB with leadership concerns. They are absolutely going to do it too, I know this because the Cardinals are almost always a total mess without any sort of direction or long-term plan, they just follow trends or sign old players to siphon a drop of gas out of them. No matter what regime they have, front office, general manager, coaching staff, it doesn't matter, they always repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Now there's a new GM (which was 5 years overdue) and they brought in a coach who got tactically spanked by Andy Reid in the Super Bowl. Obviously they deserve a few years to find their groove since this is going to be a long-term rebuild, but I have a feeling this regime will fail to build a winning culture and have sustained success, just like every other regime that came before them. This is the Cardinals after all, and the Bidwills will royally screw things up once again. Cardinals fans should be lucky that 2008 and 2015 happened because this team will never come close to those highs ever again - as long as the Bidwill family are still owners. They are the worst NFL owners now that Dan Snyder is gone. Even their long time partners in misery in the Lions, Browns, Bengals, Jets, etc. have all found success over the last few years to varying degrees. Even the Raiders were able to have a good season in 2021 despite loads of off-field drama and adversity. All the Cardinals have to show is starting the 2021 season 7-0. That's it. The Bidwills are so bad that they are actually predictable, I fully expect them to try and trade Jay Culter 2.0 while eating a big part of his contract and use another first overall pick to replace him with... Jay Cutler 3.0. Roughly 4-7 years from now they will find themselves in a very similar position that they're currently in as we speak. I like that they are clearly rebuilding for the future instead of foolishly pretending that they can still be contenders, but who's to say they won't make the same mistakes once again? The Arizona Cardinals are like Groundhog Day, but the humor is replaced with crippling depression and Einstein's definition of insanity. Sell the team!
@joericottone Жыл бұрын
this is my favorite comment in my young youtube career lol! I do think Caleb will learn from Kyler's mistakes if he ends up in AZ, but I agree, the ownership needs to change. You know things are bad when the owners make the players pay to take food home from the facility. Thanks so much for watching!

@@joericottone Thank you, and here's a bonus, I'll elaborate on Caleb Williams some more. I just don't get the hype around him. Yeah, he's very talented and has already won a Heisman. He's projected to go first overall in 2024 for a reason. But we're talking about the guy who painted "Fuck Utah" on his fingernails and then proceeded to lose to Utah in embarrassing fashion yet again. I know it's just one incident but that's a huge red flag, I don't remember any college or NFL QB ever doing something like that. He seems very immature and childish, he has a lot to learn before he can become the leader of 52 other men on an NFL team. He's Kyler Murray but taller with shades of Spencer Rattler's personality. Oh yeah, Rattler, another Lincoln Riley QB that ironically got his job taken by Caleb Williams. Riley seems to have a type. Rattler was the most immature of them all and had a horrible final season at Oklahoma, before that season he was also projected to be a first overall pick like Mayfield and Murray. The only Lincoln Riley QB that has truly become a franchise QB in the NFL is Jalen Hurts, who only played at Oklahoma for one season after transferring from Alabama. Unlike Williams, Rattler, Murray, Mayfield, etc. Hurts has proven that he is capable of leading a locker room and being a great teammate. It took a couple years but he went from one of the worst QBs in the league to balling out in a close Super Bowl loss. That's partially due to his coachability, humbleness, and him being a natural leader, and I think playing for Nick Saban had something to do with that. I don't see any of those qualities in Caleb Williams as of right now. I still think he's certainly worth a first round pick just because of the talent and ceiling alone, but I certainly wouldn't take him with a top five pick. Maybe Williams could eventually succeed if he was drafted by an organization with great coaching and veteran mentorship, but the Cardinals are far from that. The Cardinals would be the worst fit for him, at least the Raiders have Garoppolo and an offensive-minded coach in Josh McDaniels I guess. If the Cardinals had any sense they would draft a different QB or just keep Kyler for another year and take BPA, maybe Marvin Harrison Jr. Once again I appreciate the feedback and you've earned a sub! I'm not even a Cardinals fan, I just hate seeing wasted talent and incompetent ownership flexing like they're a model organization or something.

Interesting video. As someone on the spectrum, maybe Kyler is autistic? He has a special interest in football, has no filter, doesn't recognize his teammate's cues, and keeps to himself? I realize that there would need to be much more evidence and research, but his behavior does feel familiar. He may need a trade elsewhere before he changes, though. The timing for the Cardinals would fit because they are rebuilding with a new coach and GM, and Murray will be out most of the season due to injury. QBs who keep to themselves or aren't great leaders can succeed if others fill the holes. We will see if the new structure in Arizona is what fits for Murray and the team.

No doubt, but cussing out your head coach in a prime time game and then throwing him under the bus in a press conference is bad for business. The thing is that if you can win championships people will let you scream at others like Brady - it’s an earned perception - even still, the biggest red flag is what Patrick Peterson said about him.
