You can't teleport to Lydia because she doesn't exist in the game, prior to you becoming Thane of Whiterun. Same goes for the rest of the housecarls.

I play with Skyrim Unbound Reborn. I’m sort of Thane in Whiterun but not really. I need do to some quests for that. But I just can be bothered. So my game has no Lydia. I mentioned this somewhere and people really wanted to tell me that Lydia id part of vanilla.
