I wash his hair almost every day and I rinse it with ACV and tea tree essential oil then I oil his scalp with my Shea butter n castor oil etc mixture. Plus I do all this in the sauna ( Finland) Lice cannot even try to get close to his head at allllll😤

@Observe self I knew my son had them ( I agree they are hard to see) so I put a lot of grease in my hair and that confirmed that I had them because they moved more toward the ends of my hair then the scalp. Idk if that make sense. All I know is, after I put grease on my hair that made them come out. To where I was able tp see them

I thought lice didn't like tea tree, lavender, peppermint oil, or any of the other essentials oils some of our products tend to have, which keeps them away. This concept is new to me. Even when I was in elementary school, I never got them. My mom used that bergamot grease on my scalp. My white friends got lice though. You learn something new every day. Interesting.
@elilili38657 жыл бұрын
White people usually don't put any oils in their hair, because their hair makes its own oils. Europeans in the middle ages would sometimes use lavender to fight fleas and lice, so it probably helps straight hair some, but I have never heard of any non-hippe white people using it, LOL.

I have been working as a health aid in elementary schools for the last 8 yrs. I have seen 6 cases where African American students have gotten head lice. Just as it is being reported here, it is difficult for black people to get it because of the shape of their hair and some of the products they use in their hair. There are certain oils that make it difficult for the lice to hold on to the hair but there are also oils that make it easy for them to attach themselves to the hair like the petroleum based oils. There are also essential oils that they just don't like, such as tea tree oil and peppermint oil. So it is possible just as being reported here. So the most important thing to remember is that lice is passed on from by head to head (hair to hair) contact, by using another person's hair things, wearing another person's clothing items that touch the hair, trying on items at the department stores, and one place that people never take in consideration is the movie theater seats. The reason theater seats are a big deal is because there is never a day where the movie theater is not empty. The lice can live off it's host for up to 24 hours. Most of the seats at the movies have had somebody in them within that time frame. So if you sat where somebody who has lice sat they could potentially leave lice behind. So you always have to take precautions in these situations. Tell you children not to share hair things with their friends and keep your child's hair up off their shoulders as much as possible. THINK PROTECTIVE STYLING.

My first time seeing lice was this year. My two biracial nieces both got those blood suckers. Everybody in the house, on the black side (lol), was shocked, because we've never seen them. Some got onto my clothes when i was trying to wash my nieces' hair, and throughout the day, but none of us ever got the lice in our own hair. I wasn't even putting products in my hair, so i'm glad i didn't get any in my hair. Of course, black ppl can get lice, but i think we are least likely to get it. Hey there, I do lice treatments as a side gig because it pays well. In all of my years of treating lice, I've only treated one person of color (biracial girl). I usually treat lice/eggs with baking soda and olive oil. I tell clients to oil at night then shampoo in the morning with a lice comb and repeat this process for 7 to 10 days. Always wear your hair up in a bun or high ponytail. And NEVER share brushes, hats, or helmets!

My daughter is black. She has 3b hair and got lice 3x from a girl with straight hair in her class. The experience was so traumatic! I used the treatment that killed the lice but it came back because 4 people in the class ended up getting it. (Funny thing all the kids that got it had loose curls) I put the treatment in my hair just as precaution I have 4 type hair and some of my hair fell out bc it still had a little relaxer in it. (Thankfully I had no lice in my hair at all. They never went in my hair even though she slept next to me at times.) I realized you can't use this product (Rid X and Equate) if you have any chemicals in your hair i.e. Relaxer, color. You can opt to use the natural lice treatment but they are less effective.

Lice prefers CLEAN hair. Free of oil. My mom is from Ghana and she said in boarding school she got lice. Her hair is kinky Afro hair. She told me hair oil helped to repel it. She told me this when I was 8. My mom is old school African. I’m now 45 and own a lice company. I am a cosmetologist and have treated lice for over 20 years so this isn’t all the way correct. I am also biracial and see that ANYONE can get lice. They don’t like OILS. I treat lice for a living so just use hair oil That’s how I never got lice. I did my first lice removal at the age of 8 with my mom helping me. This is a great vlog. Lice are adapting. The best treatment is DIATOMACEOUS EARTH. IT IS A MECHANICAL SOLUTION THAT BREAKS DOWN THE LOUSE AND NITS. 🙏🏽

When I was in elementary school and we had lice checks, the school nurse would just look at me and go “You don’t have lice... and you braid your hair everyday. You probably won’t ever get them.” And that was that. Since then we’ve never had lice, me or my older brother. My little brother is mixed, his hair is more straight. A while back he was having itching and irritation on his head and back we thought it was his detergent (he was sensitive as a baby) and we started trying different clothes and detergents. It wasn’t until another woman looked when she was doing his hair that we found out that he had lice. We had absolutely no way of even knowing. My mom was upset but really it got remedied quickly. It was just surprising it literally NEVER crossed out minds. Needless to say he now has his hair thoroughly oiled and braided everyday. We haven’t cut his hair since he was born so he has long hair.

It's always a good idea to get medical advice from about 2 to 3 doctors especially if you are not comfortable with what one told you. Scalp pruritus can be a symptom of something else so, I suggest you book an appointment with a different doctor for a second advice as soon as you can.

Christina McFarlane Dandruff or maybe even ringworm? Both causes itchy scalp and flakes. I wouldn't know what the crawlin' sensation could be from tho'. Sometimes insects (not lice) can get in people's hair, but even if it bites you on the scalp, I don't think that would cause flakes tho'.

Their food source is your scalp 😱 I always heard it was due to the oils we used, where straighter hair ppl wash often to cut down on their natural oils

My boys had the worst infestation I had ever seen. They are black w/ kinky-textured hair. It was awful. We thought we’d have to cut their hair. 😣

I was always told that lice would die in afro hair, as it is unable to crawl around and lay eggs? I love your graphics, and your vids, I had to make do my vids in IMVU style lol

i think most africans don't get lice due to relaxing the hairthat is how a friend of mine got rid of hers
@GreenBeauty7 жыл бұрын
A relaxer would work. But, for those who don't want to use chemicals they can try flat ironing or hot combing their hair instead. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaXHoHWteMeXhdk

What would eggs do? The protein in eggs is too big to penetrate the hair shaft... is it meant to be some sort of moisturizer? I'd sooner stick with adding honey to my deep conditioner.
@elizabethneri88748 жыл бұрын
im not sure thats what i was wondering as people were getting amazing results
@nightangel35788 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Neri people have got to be lying in those videos. The protein in eggs is far too large to penetrate the hair. I'm still trying to figure how is happening.
