Loving the content brother! I am one who chose the broad path in my teenage years but was saved in my late 20’s. I am now 45 and I must say this conversation is spot on. There was always a choice but it was much easier to become part of what most of the people in my hood was doing. One other nuance as well is that in some ways becoming part of the program also provided “protection” from the wolves. However, had I known God at that time I would have saw Him as my means of protection. Hindsight is truly 20/20. Keep it coming bro!

I'm a 37 year old, single, childfree, African American female who owns two businesses, and travels the world as a photojournalist. I've lived in 6 countries, traveled to 18 and I often get this look of shock when people find out what my businesses are and what I currently do. I know people treat me differently because of my success... particularly those who are not black. Black people typically are shocked when hearing my story while everyone else does a 180 with how they approach me. If I just told people my family is from Harlem the treatment I receive would be quite different. I'm "othered" by all demographics because I don't fit into any mold which quite frankly I take great pride in.

Idk is it funny or sad that the treatment you get will only happen in US prolly nowhere else.

@@nenadpopov3601 Wrong. It's the same treatment everywhere. I lived in New Zealand where it was constant... racism from stupidity, not hatred. France, racism from hatred 100%. America, violent hatred.

There's a layer of ignorance within this conversation which is sad to see and I hope you open the mic to others who have a different perspective. God, Jesus, and whatever book you believe in has nothing to do with what black people are going through and Christianity in itself has kept black people back for decades.

I'm seeing the same thing.

@@everythingdana9322 The disconnect they have with the black community is embarrassing. As a retired, black, 37 yr old who's probably accomplished more than these men, I'm still emotionally intelligent enough to realize that although I "made it" there are still those who don't have the resources to make it. And wearing a pair of Nikes in the hood doesn't mean that they aren't still oppressed. These men should be ashamed of themselves.
