Why when I searched the web this entire summer in 118° in blazing hot Arizona did every single mechanic shop always give sound advise on how to "fix" it yourself but not a single one ever gave this advise? The all wanted $250 for the inspection, $280 for new switches, $450 for a new compressor, $250 for new lines, $195 for new harness and $95 for labor. This seems much more up my ally. Thank you for the video. Saved me money and many me days of heat stroke

Just went through this, I went to the AC compressor clutch relay and jumpered the socket... once the low side got up in pressure, I put the relay back in and life is good. The AC clutch will normally cycle to keep high side pressure from getting too high, and to keep the evaporator from icing up.

THANKS BROTHER! I was fixing to jumper a wire from the battery to the leg of the relay that controls the clutch. Your plug bypass was simple and effective since the plug was 4" from the freon port. We couldn't understand why the 2001, S10, compressor would not cut on. Good ole KZbin will make you smart! (Low pressure sensor) Then I got enough Freon in, that it was starting and stopping, like in your video. It still wouldn't accept any freon. With the paper clip in place, it took Freon until it wouldn't take any more. A little over a can. Temp at the vent with a temp laser. 36 degree. Oh yea!!!

Lol I did want to point out that I have been told by mechanics that your a/ c should never need recharged unless som things wrong with it. You started by showing that the refrigerant/coolant, wasn’t going in. would you please continue the video & show the gauge actually working & filling in the system. When I watch tutorials like yours and makes me feel safer doing it. Thank you again 😊

Living in Las Vegas, 117 degree weather and an AC I though was completely shot. Thank you for the video. I finally won't be burning up in my car anymore. Haha.

@@FarmDad and it will be again. every year is the same. Whoever parks outside without a roof is burned. Lucky who has a roof in their job and has a garage and park inside, cause I have seen so many stupids with the garage full of shit and parking outside, WTF is that? or worse they transform the garage into part of the house and make another room.

This is the issue I always seem to have! The gauge will say it's "overfull", while at the same time not blowing cold just sort of cool. That's what I'm dealing with right now. This video was a big help!
@FarmDad3 жыл бұрын
Overfull will cause it to blow warm too.

@@FarmDad interesting, maybe the previous owner overfilled it, so would evacuating some allow the temp to drop?

@@TheDeen83 yes.

@@FarmDad My AC compressor is on the whole time but still can't get any refrigerant in the system on a Scion Xa. Thanks anyways for the tip!
@FarmDad2 жыл бұрын
@@beo20071 any possibility you are too full? If overcharged, it'll blow hot.

@@FarmDad hey man thank for the reply! the pressure gauge stays in the middle when plugged in, the Freon just doesn't go in. The AC does blow cold air but very very weak and it grows weaker every time I plug and unplug the pressure gauge because it leaks some every time I do so. The compressor run just fine. Any suggestion would help brother!
