So, I have to say that, first and foremost I am a huge fan of Voiceplay, but when I saw this song first released I refused to listen to it. Elvis was my sister's favorite artist and I came in with a perceived notion that this would ruin the song for me. She passed away 3 years ago. I kept ignoring the video and recommendation. I finally broke down and watched it. I cried. This was your version and a beautiful one at that. I cried because I couldn't share this with her. I cried because this was arranged beautifully. I cried because it was performed with perfection and passion. This wasn't just an Elvis cover. This was your vision of the song and I'm glad that I took the journey with you. Thank you.

Is that a normal thing for guys who sing bass or lower-end baritone? I know some people consider that a bit of a turn-on... And there was one person in the comments section of the a-few-years-older "ACA Top 10: Video Games" vid (also by VoicePlay) who found it funny for some reason. I failed to see the humor myself.
@ladywytch1293 жыл бұрын
@@ladycordelia17 It's normal. It's just the movement of the muscles in the voice box, everyone does it as they speak/sing. I don't know if I find it funny, though 🤷🏼♀️ It's just what the body does.
@ladycordelia173 жыл бұрын
@@ladywytch129 Makes perfect sense - and I guess the only reason the whole thing was commented on to begin with is because it's far more easily observed if the singer is male than if the singer is female, for fairly obvious reasons. About Geoff Castellucci
@lauriehallcolemandowns7364Ай бұрын
As I am growing to discover each of their strongest suits, I find that in addition to his warm and snuggly deep bass voice, Geoff's talent as an arranger is not only genius, but it reveals such a tender and complex side to him which always comes out in his music. The warm, complex, chord structures he implements to perfection in ALL his arrangements, which are always so harmonically lush, reveal him to be not only gifted but intellectually and intuitively complex himself. A musician's truest nature shines through in how they write or arrange music. This, and all of his arrangements reveal so much to me as a fellow musician. He is truly exceptional in the industry. I say this not to take away from the others in the group who arrange pieces - they are ALL incredibly brilliant and creative arrangers AND performers - but the sensitivity Geoff can draw from them all is so special. Although this video is a few years old as I write, it is a perfect testament to what I'm trying (too verbosely) to express.

I came across VoicePlay only recently, with their Nothing Else Matters cover. I've been binging their songs and shorts since then. But this one I had refused to listen to, because I used to sing this to my ex-wife. And since I've recently divorced, I didn't want to hear this song, not even Elvis' recording (which I absolutely love). Today while listening to some other stuff, this video kept appearing in my recommended list, and I was getting annoyed. But I took a deep breath, and I clicked on it. And now, after listening, I am glad I did. Cheesy and cliché, but I think this is going to help me with the healing process. I think I can now listen to this song again, without focusing on the bad recent experience. So, yeah... Thanks VoicePlay.

Considering they're 100% independent, and record in their own homes..... idk where you get the "best equipment money can buy" bit. As for the video - yes, it's a MUSIC VIDEO. KZbin suggested I might be interested in vocal topics, starting with analysis videos by Elizabeth Zharoff (sp?) The Charismatic Voice, which then led to the A Cappella groups VoicePlay and Home Free. Her genuine giddiness over those low bass notes is contagious! 🤩 From there, I started binge-watching those two groups and Geoff's solo pieces... er, uhhh... "multi-track solo harmonized pieces." What kind of tickles those videos even more is when the camera shake effect either dramatizes the beat or emphasizes the "Geoff Quakes." 🤗 Edit/add: And this binge-watching began about the turn of 2023-2024, so yeah, "well after" the pandemic's first major quarantine period.

You boys harmonize beautifully! The sounds of God’s Soul coming out to make others feel God’s Agape Love to build His Love Foundation back up! Hallelujah! Praise God! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
