I take 2000 mg daily, in the AM with the rest of my supplements (vitamin D3, zinc). I started out taking one capsule every ither day and worked up to daily. I can absolutely say it has helped with my sleep, hip pain and alertness upon waking.

I used it before always at bedtime and then someone specialist said its better in the morning and take glycinate before bed. Well then I skip it around again and magtein goes to my bed time sup cocktail. Who knows I do sleep better again as well. :)

i've heard that it's really no better than some of the other magnesium and it's so expensive like I can barely afford it and also I heard that a lot of the trials are done by the company that owns a patent or whatever is any of this true you know does it really work I have an older mom I would like to buy it for if it works but uncertain about itwould be appreciative thank you
@DrJinSung2 ай бұрын
Yes, price is a factor. Next best option is Mag Glycinate.
@AnnaMaria-zm8cv2 ай бұрын
If a trial has been done for supplements usualy there is big pharma behind it, because many supplement producers cannot afford reliable trials on this scale. And yes they swindle a lot with them to get better outcome and improve its marketing. And this also causes steep prices.

@@DrJinSunghi Doc kindly make a video with other sleep supplements. My mom Is afraid to take anything useful that I suggest supplements such as melatonin etc but if she hears you mention it in a video she’ll take it no doubt. She complains of waking up during night and not being able To go back to sleep etc

Dr Sung, please, how can one use both magnesium glycinate and L.Threonate on a daily basis? Especially when you need both. Thank you.
@AnnaMaria-zm8cv2 ай бұрын
I use both, I take glycinate in morning and afternoon and magtein before going to bed. Until this video I took magtein in afternoon instead. I also take magnesium taurate somewhere during the day but not every day. You can mix different types of magnesium, but you got to take mind that not every product has same amount of elemental magnesium, some are very low, some are high and in some it is mostly a filler that also enhances the other ingredient. It is important to know if you have a condition that doesnt do well with magnesium that you check each type to not go over your daily limit, but for healthy people or those low in magnesium it should be fine. Magtein doesnt contain much elemental magnesium, but it is very effective because it goes through blood brain barrier and absorbs really well.

Deep sleep is NOT REM. There is deep sleep, light sleep and REM. 😮
@DrJinSung2 ай бұрын
Yes, you are correct. Thanks for pointing that out. What I meant to say was there was an improvement in deep sleep score and REM sleep score. So improvement both criteria based on scoring.

Be careful with Magtein. I took this at recommended dosage ( Dr Berg Recommendation) for 2 weeks then started having issues. Heart palpitations, headache, anxiety and groggy during the day, heart would stop then beat harder felt like afib and Im overall very healthy. As soon as I stopped this stuff and returned to Magnesium Citrate all the side effects went away.

Whats your calcium and potassium situation?
@AnnaMaria-zm8cv2 ай бұрын
I dont know where I heard yesterday, that many women with insuline resistance have the same issues with magnesium, they need to fix other deficiencies first, mostly minerals (electrolytes) because due to the insuline resistance the body cant deal with magnesium very well on its own. I think it was a video Dr Hyman I heard about it.

after taking even 600mg of magtein 1h before sleep I'm always waking up in the middle of the night and cuz of that I'm waking up lot more groggy; I don't if it's worth it even when i feel some benefit in the day (lot more calm, ability to approach any task without anxiety, bit more focused); anyone with the same experience?
@seanaames68552 ай бұрын
My experience is that Magtein is better taken in the morning. I take it on Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun. I alternate with Mag Glycinate at night on Mon, Wed, and Fri.
@janchapman34082 ай бұрын
Take it in the morning. Absolutely should help. It helped me after years of feeling tired every morning.
@AnnaMaria-zm8cv2 ай бұрын
I think that was why I more often hear to take it in morning or at lunch time, because in some it raises alertnes which causes you to wake up. I guess its trial and error here, see what suits best for people. Might not be for light sleepers maybe. I sleep better with it for sure. I take it every night and during day glycinate.
