I had type ll diabetes for 9 years, and was treated with Rx Metformin bd, and after starting carnivore diet just over 11 X months ago, I no longer have diabetes and no longer require any Rx medication. My diet also cured my 42 years of hypertension, and no longer require Rx antihypertensive medications. Carnivore works for me. I'm a retired NZ RN, and was never taught that this diet could impact either of those serious long term diseases.

Hey that’s fantastic news 🥳 Thanks for taking the time and informing us all 🙏 I’ve just begun, actually from a Keto diet with tons of veggies daily . . . so I am still getting use to the change, but so far so good. I love the simplicity of it and the benefits so far have really convinced me that I’m on the right track. Anyone reading this should know, there will be some issues to deal with (digestive mainly, possible oxalate dumping) so do a little research on how to deal with these. Mainly adjusting your fat to protein ratio and possibly slowing down the oxalate dump with drinking tea or other plants with minimal oxalates, so you’re not changing your system from 100 - 0. This should slow it down gradually, so your body can eliminate them without any drastic issues (aka kidney stones, steys, oxalate crystals building up in joints). I personally never think about the foods/ drinks I eliminate, I’m just so grateful and excited about how delicious the food is that I do consume. Steak, any sort of beef & lamb, butter, tallow, eggs (mainly the yokes) due to my personal health issues, fish, chicken, pork, deer, elk, dairy (but not so often), salt and a little cayenne-pepper (my only addiction 😋) have to have! I’ve even started eating more sardines lately and I’m feeling the omega-3 helping my dry eyes. Just really liberating how adjusting your food intake, one to one, can heal your body. Oh yeah, intermittent fasting just automatically happens because this diet is sooo satiating! 1-2 meals a day gives me all the fuel I need. Sleep, work, exercise have all improved. Give it a go folks! You won’t regret it.

That’s great to hear. I’m giving a class presentation this month to an Anatomy and Physiology class on CKD. One of my classmates lost her mother to CKD. She insists that it was blood pressure-related, and I don’t want to be overbearing about it, but I suspect her mom had undiagnosed diabetes and hyperinsulinemia that elevated the b/p.

Starten Carnivore in August. I have type2 diabetes, and I got more and more medication, couldnt take metformin anymore, got jardiance and lived in the bathroom, got repaglinid instead and and spent just a little less time there. got ozempic instead of victosa i and felt worse and worse. I was about to get insulin, but as an obese person I thought that would cause my very early death of overwight. Now I have lost 15 kilos, slowly now. Last 3 months I don't take any medication for type 2 diabetes, still I have longterm bloodsugar on 42 (in Sweden Dont know how to translate your scales.) I used to have 56-60. Im very happy about this of course! It is just one thing I find a bit strange. Every time I eat som carbs, I know I shouldn't and it rarely happens, I loose more weight. It may be that I couldn't recist a small piece of Dark chocolate or a piece of Apple. Since I dont take any diabetes medicin I can't get away much with cheeting and mostly I don't have the need. What happens in my body when I cheet? Why do I loose a kilo, instead of 100 of grams?😮

@katrinjl0103 i couldn't yell you exactly, as steak isn't measured. But the ground beef is 73/27. And I eat fatty beef ribs a lot. I mostly keep track of my bowels. Too loose means PERHAPS too much fat. And vice versa. My butter intake and heavy cream have radically gone up. It seems my body has learned to accept more fat.

Obviously yes it can treat diabetes, thats a no brainer. I would prefer to see more videos addressing obscure diseases and non-metabolic conditions which may be relevant to less people, but still have significant value in providing examples of how this diet can treat diseases that are deemed "incurable".

This is very concerning: "Diabetes is one of those *life-long conditions* that places great burden on patients," Dr Ted Wu, Director, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre. I found the above when looking up about the drug that has now been approved for PBS subsidy here in Australia - Sidapvia (Dapagliflozin & Sitagliptin).

I am on day 161 of the carnivore lifestyle and still have to take insulin periodically. I was Dx 'd T2, 21 years ago, and went on insulin about 19 years ago as I had allergic reactions to every other Rx prescribed to me. I've used a sliding scale to administer insulin. The highest A1C ever was 7.2 and and usually, it's 6.1. I was on ozempic (1 unit/week) for 2 years, 5 months, and quit it gradually over 14 weeks and have not used it since day 98. I can go up to 5 days without insulin and then will get a spike to 6.8, which I modify with insulin. I want to get off of it, but I guess time will tell.

6.8mmol/l? You need insulin for that? It's well within an acceptable range for blood sugar.
@brucemckay66152 ай бұрын
@@southern-samurai”acceptable range” according to the medical community… when I was first diagnosed 41 years ago as T1D I was told the upper limit was 8.0… now its 10.0…. Because reasons??? I set my upper limit at 6.0…. To flatten the curve and keep the average low…. I have HbA1C of 4.8%/29. Much better place to live than having HbA1C over 6.0%…

@@southern-samuraiHi. I’m pretty sure they’re talking about American / rest of the world measurements as a percentage figure, not mmol. 6.5% would be diabetic on that scale.

@brucemckay6615 You are basing your comment on WHO dictum. Please do some serious research on diabetes. ADA accepts money (donations) from Coca-Cola and other highly processed food manufacturers, as does its Canadian counterpart. On the other hand, maybe you enjoy consuming swill. That, however, is your choice.

Your insulin resistance didnt just happen overnight, so be patient. A lot of damage has been done over the year of consuming all the sugars high carbs, highly processed foods - we've put a lot of toxic garbage food in to our system. By the time most of us reach 40.. it's now far more difficult for our amazing body to fight the damage..and so the triggers are kicking in.. and our health starts to take a toll. Yes you most likely can reverse a lot of the damage - everyone will respond differently and at different rates... some faster than other.. BUT HAVE TO DROP KICK THE GARBAGE FOOD THE CURB! While it's awesome that Trump will have RFK, jr running the health show and cleaning up some of the garbage agencies that are willing participants in the health destroying industry...DONT WAIT FOR HIM TO DO WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING..WHICH IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AND CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH.. DROP KICK THE GARBAGE FOOD THE CURB!
@lovv2laff2 ай бұрын
Question for anyone with insulin resistance. How long did it take you to reverse it? I've been 6 months on and first 3 months it improved (except my A1C went up) then my 6 month test, my A1C went up again to 6.1. And my triglycerides went up as well and my HDL went up, but only a couple points to 49. (Still not good) wondering if my IR is going to be more of a year process. And will my health get worse before it gets better?
