My cravings for anything carby/sugary ended my first day on Carnivore. When my serious weightloss/healthy quest started over 30 years ago, I vowed there's no food that I wouldn't give up for my health. Carbs and sugars were eliminated decades ago; and despite the skeptics I lived! Pre-diabetes went away. I lost 50 pounds. The carnivore diet helped me lose 20 pounds, cured IBS, regain muscle mass I lost during covid in 2021, and back to daily exercising. Thanks Dr. Chaffee for your very informative discussions.

You and me both. Today is my 30th day on carnivore and I've been dreaming of carbs. Just the thought of another steak makes me wanna throw a toddler tantrum. I.... Want..... BREAD! However, I've lost weight, I'm sleeping better, my stomach isn't bloated anymore, my hot flashes have gone wayyy down, my lifts in the gym are increasing and I love the way my clothes are fitting. Plus for the most part, I'm satiated. I just feel better overall and I know that I know it will only get better from here. *Trudges off to the fridge to munch some butter*

@@KevinSignorelli All those foods have nutrients with very low bioavailability, this is not a mystery. All you are doing is adding stress to the digestive system and flooding your body with insulin (which is damaging).
@KevinSignorelli
@KevinSignorelli Күн бұрын
@@somethingelse9535 This is false. Only when the foods are not prepared properly do they have low bioavailability. For instance, sprouting increases the bioavailability dramatically. Meat is not optimal at all. Zero fiber which is a necessity for proper gut health is not at all ideal. Meat has very low polyphenols, antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E etc. Whereas there is literally nothing meat has that cannot be gotten from plant based sources. It's fine to eat meat but to say we should only be eating meat is the most absurd thing to say.

Genius as always Anthony! I always knew there was something people & myself were missing when it came to losing fat of the body! My life changed very suddenly, after one of your videos just accidentally appeared on my yt feed one day. I wasn't even looking for dieting solutions at the time. I was looking into the nasty needles, & their effects on people. I was suddenly sacked from a job I loved, after 13 years of dedicated service, doing the best job I could, doing job I loved, with a company car, supervising a couple of cooperative workers, working on the bench as well as in the field. All of a sudden I had all this time, with nothing to do, in shell shock really that this had actually happened to me! It was surreal! So i kept investigating deeper, in different areas, & people from wildly different fields & occupations, with no connection to each other, were all saying the same things! Including you! How can this work? No! This will kill me; all this cholesterol, & no fibre? How ridiculous! Just meat & eggs? - AND salt? - Specifically? It was so ridiculous & outlandish, & went against everything I had ever known about health & nutrition, broke every rule, that I just had to look into it further. I had heard about the Atkins diet years ago, & the name echoed from the distant past, as I listened to what you said. I can't even remember which one of your videos it was... But anyway, here I am, 6 months after diving right into this, & changing my life, 95% carnivore really, which means ketovore really I spose huh? Anyway Anthony, thanks a million mate! Here I am now, I can eat as much as I want, with as much salt as I want, cooking in yummy dripping, not having to eat annoying, shitty veges any more, not even having to exercise, & losing another 10kg & staying at that weight! I've just the other day laid my eyes on this very attractive 50-ish year old chick, who lost her colon, the poor thing, to the the dopey vegetable diet. I dunno if she's even single yet. She has a daughter, so she may still be married, but odds are, unfortunately but fortunately, that she's a divorcee. She works at the local butcher shop!

Afraid because if they feel better on it they know, if they have even one important relationship in their life, that in their interior - they will be morally obligated to never go back. Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet .(Sorry if i already posted before but i dont know what to do) : I am now over 200 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else but 500-600g of COCKED meat plus 7-8 eggs in a day. All Divided in 2 meals) I am now 35 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-22%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss- HIT Workouts) I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems. I lost about 17 lbs(8kg) in the first 9 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 8 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements like waist, legs, arms and neck ).In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs(1KG between weeks 10-12, but it might be just water. I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor have I changed my body composition significantly I am now over 12 weeks with no body fat lost. So I would like to ask a few question about the Carnivore diet: 1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnivore diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat) 2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?(how many weeks or months) 3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition? I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet. PS: Most of my time as a Carnivore i have not experience most Carnivore benefits or lost any body fat. Also, Sorry for any grammar mistake, i am Brazilian and english is not my first language. Thank you for your attention!

probably a combo of these 3 things and more reduced tolerance to the toxins in plants just like an alcoholic will be hit harder with the same amount of alcohol after he has stopped drinking for a while, lack of preloaded insulin making it so that blood sugar is elevated for a longer time. (apperently the body produces and stores insulin for quick release when carbs are eaten often and stops doing that when they're not eaten for a while), contrast of perception. even if the crappy feeling has the same level of inherent crappiness it may feel crappier because it's being compared with a higher baseline.
@tradermunky1998

For me, once I dumped all plants it felt like my body was clear of "noise" that was being created dealing with the constant intake of plant toxins. Now anytime I do eat a decent amount of plants it's like an alarm goes off. If you have ever been addicted to anything such as tobacco you might notice as you do more of it there is less effect. It takes more and more and it will probably never match the first couple of experiences you got starting out. I think the same thing is going on with plants. I didn't notice the effects of them previously because I did them all the time. I had a certain tolerance level. Now that I don't eat plants, the effects of when I do are like the first time I took a drag off a cigarette and got a massive nicotine hit versus smoking a couple packs a day. Hopefully that makes sense. Ah, just read Carl's comment, he read my mind 😂

I think Dr Berry has a video on this and if I’m not mistaken it can have something to do with the fact the pancreas gets used to not having to respond to sugar so it changes its function. And then if you eat carbs again it can take days for the body to get those functions fired back up again. It was maybe Dr Berry or Dr Bikman…. They mentioned that it can cause carnivores to have bad results in physical exams because it makes it look like the body can’t handle carbs when in reality it just isn’t used to them and would need a few days to adjust to the switch in diet, and if the person took the test again a few days later the results would be different.

@@CodyDouglas-mq7hw cholesterol is a nuanced issue, and just having "high" LDL isn't necessarily an issue, and could be a benefit in fact. High B12 is in the context of the normal range, which is the average for sick, malnourished people, so I bet it's actually right where you want it to be. Ferritin however IS an acute phase reactant and will go up if there's excess inflammation in the body. This can happen for any number of reasons, your diet eliminating many of them, but there are more. You also need to optimize sleep and stress levels, and try to get rid of things that can cause issues as well, which could be all sorts of environmental exposures. Then also remember that not everything is related to diet and you may have something else going on, so be sure to follow up with your doctor to try and figure out if there's something else grumbling around in the background. Also, have you noticed other improvements to your health in the past year at least? Sometimes we focus on what's not right yet and lose sight of all of the things that have improved along the way. Good luck with it!

I ate mostly plant based foods my whole life and hardly got any acute adverse physiological reactions, just an itchness here and there, which i always have associated to my chronic dermatites, which i was in peace with, since i was told it has no cure. However, bout an year ago, i ate about 100g - 150 of cashew nuts, which i have been doing for years, and i got an acute physiological reaction: my dermatites got worst, armpit, groins, arms and legs got all full of red spots and itchy as hella; and altough i have been eating no cashwe nuts anymore, after his ''breaking incident", EVERY SINGLE fruit, leaf and grain, regardless of the amount, triggers some sort of autoimmune response, it is not intense, but i know its there. Any idea what might have happened so my body is reacting this way now ? Thank you very much for your videos, they are the best.

" I have hemochromotosis and am concerned that going carnivore will exacerbate the condition. " Carnivore will most likely HELP with this condition. The point is that chronically high insulin activates the transferrin receptor 1 (TFR1) in liver which will then absorb more iron than what the hepatocytes need and cause iron overload. Eating carbs will make it worse. It is not about dietary iron AT ALL...

I chew gum all the time without any problems. I buy a brand called pur from Amazon. It's sweetened with xylitol, has 6 ingredients. I called and asked what the 'natural flavors' were and the guy was so surprised that anyone would have a problem with it. He said it was the spearmint and other essential oil they use for the flavors. I've been chewing gum for 25 years, since I quit smoking. No ulcers, no stomach issues, not diabetic. It's my after dinner smoke, lol! I've even done 7 and 8 day extended fasting and keto-mojo showed my ketones at 7.0. I thought that was too high so ended the fast. Now I only do occasional 3-5 days. And I chew gum the whole time. No problems for me staying in ketosis. I'm not a purist and still have my single cup of black coffee in the mornings. I eat Dr Berry's BBB&E, cheese and a little goat milk kefir. I guess that makes me a ketovore. I'm 66f and my arthritis, depression, high blood pressure and elevated heart rate are all under control without any meds and my labs are good. I don't follow the lion diet or 'just eat meat' dogma. I don't eat plants as that's what works for me. Do your own N=1 and see how you do. There are several brands that don't have a bunch of bad ingredients. And I am a carb addict and definitely not a moderator but the gum hasn't ever set me off. If anything, it satisfies that little something that marks the end of my omad meal. Good luck!

Be kind to your vascular endothelial glycocalyx your shields need to be active in today's environment.

@@biohack9540 By minimizing and spacing out our consumption of carbohydrates, particularly sugar. Intermittent fasting, even TLDR; (an informed hypothesis) Blood sugar spikes (among other factors) wash out the vascular endothelial glycocalyx. This is a structure that is not shown in medical textbook illustrations. It is only recently that it has been visualized in vivo. The glycocalyx acts as a shield for the endothelial layer. It is also a 'flow sensor' and controls the release of Nitrous Oxide (NO) for BP control (vasodilation). It takes the glycocalyx multiple hours to recover. With the shields down, the endothelial layer is exposed to toxins, oxidized products and LDL remnants. Continuous consumption of carbohydrates never allows the glycocalyx to fully recover. It is a one-two punch, a binary explosive. Excess inflammatory factors *WHILE* the shields are down. If you study just one factor, you might miss it. Why would we have such a fragile structure for these mechanisms that protect us? The flight-or-fight response. "Adrenaline (later, cortisol continues the response) is released which triggers the release of blood sugar (glucose) and fats from temporary storage sites in the body. These nutrients flood into the bloodstream, supplying energy to all parts of the body." The glycocalyx is washed out, preventing the release of NO and causing blood pressure to rise as heart rate and blood flow increase. That gets the energy and hormones to every nook and cranny of every capillary. This does increase our exposure to the {toxins}, but _Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures._ Being in that state chronically (for one example, sleep apnea) is deadly.

Raw dairy is great, cheese and cream too. You will want to limit them to prevent weight gain though. For example, I don't drink more than one or two glasses of milk daily. It's really great for resistance training in particular. Brilliant for putting on muscle.

Make sure to add fermented dairy for the probiotics. Sour cream, full fat yogurt, kefir, etc. I love cottage cheese also. There is a brand called "Kolana" that I highly recommend if you can find it.

@@johntiebosch9134 to be honest it's not the food I find boring, I live on rare beef burgers with added fat and my mouth still waters every time I think about them. The problem for me is drinks! Not having coffee when everyone else is.. I bought a soda stream to make my own RO sparkling water.. Good luck, if you can do a few weeks without the milk/ honey/sweet stuff you'll be fine..👍

Ps. You can eat meat raw if it’s clean. I personally like it cooked. If you’re eating fatty red meat like beef, the rarer the better, nutrition wise. But still it’s not that much better. Just eat til you’re full and not again til you’re hungry again.

Dandruff is often caused by fungi or possible candida overgrowth which feeds on sugar. If you cut the sugar(carbs) it cuts off the fuel and food source for this fungi that occurs naturally in the body to overgrow
