KOM Rider was assisted by other bicycle riders, no ebikes, car drafting, or other shenanigans. I see no issues with riding as a group through this type of segment, especially considering most of the leaderboard are riders in a group. Fun video. A bit sketchball with other riders and cars, but definitely fun.

That's what responsible cyclists do. In my city (Toronto), there are now a lot of idiots on e-bikes just flying by people and not giving them heads up. Almost collided with one.

Whenever I tell people On Your Left/Right, 80% of the time I'm given a thumbs up, thank you, or some form of appreciation. It irks the crap out of me when other cyclists close pass me silently. Ive come close to inadvertently taking out a few guys who don't say shit when passing.

Great vid, and congrats on the KOM! I used to work in D.C. for many years, and I can attest that those noon rides, which locals call the "Hour of Power", are absolutely brutal. Even sitting in the group it's almost impossible to not get dropped unless you are ultra fit, which I am definitely not. It's good to see the younger generation raising the bar!

Johan, Jonah, whatever it takes, lol. (Can't diss to hard, I'm dyslexic too!) As for KOM's - as long as it's not a car or ebike or motorpacing, I'm kuulwiddit. Hell, one of my KOM's over the years might be said to have been [partly] due to an accommodating gust of wind! And TT bikes and aero gear are completely legit. Congrats to King Frankie!

It's definitely not against the rules. The logistics involved means most segments aren't going to be TTT KOMs so there's plenty out there for us solo riders, IMO. I'm not worried about it. Plenty of KOMs happen on fast group rides that aren't explicit TTT.

Exactly like the rider said, he was doing low watts at the beginning, and your true power ability is hard if not impossible to achieve in aero. 33+ on flat is so much about position. Nice ride man.

I’m 50/50 on it. Yea the Strava rules only really specify no motor pacing or ebikes. But you guys are passing all the cars so motor pacing at speed limit would have likely been slower than this pace. However, even holding a wheel at this pace is impressive. It’s a nasty effort. You can’t take away the effort. Personally I think Strava will inevitably have to start to differentiate between team efforts like this and solo because this is becoming more and more of a thing. Either way, great work guys 🔥

If the current KOM holder used a team for the KOM, then it's absolutely fair game! But on the flip side, if the KOM holder did it solo, let's respect that, and keep it honest, otherwise it just gets pointless.

Personally, working as a team is fine, like some mentioned before, there was no car drafting, ebike used so fair game. However I do think that Strava needs to reset KOM/QOM if that individual makes no attempts at the segment after 2 years. What’s the fun in being the king if you don’t actively defend the throne?
