After years exposed to the weather, this Honda CT70 developed a large rusting, rotting hole on the left side of its frame. Can we save it? #HondaCT70 #Trail70 #MiniTrail

Now I understand why a lot of CT70s are rusty at the bottom. The bottom parts of the frame are laminated and spot welded together....lets the rust worms have a place to eat. Great job repairing that area.......will out last us!

They sure to help me out on my restorations with both small grinders and cut wheels. I have have had my share of rust to contend with. Good video turned out very nice

I’m so proud of you. I know that patching that hole would not be your normal, but you did a fabulous job for what you were working with.

Nice job on that repair Mike. I’d be dangerous if I knew how to weld! 😳

Thanks! I wouldn’t want to do it as a job, but small weld fixes, like this one, are fun.

I say SAVE IT. This is an easy job compared to my car (replace quarter, roof, patch up bulkheads, replace trunk floors)

Looks good I just saw that Trail Buddy was offering full frame kits even frames are getting hard to find and expensive on Ebay
@MiniBikeMike2 ай бұрын
The last I heard, those TB frames don’t have a VIN or come with any paperwork to get title.

Next time for small cuts use a dremel with cutoff wheel.
@MiniBikeMike2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I have a smaller cutoff setup at home, but this was a very last minute decision to do this job today…..and I didn’t feel like driving to the house to get it. I made do with the tools I had at the shop.

I’ve got one…..at home. This was a spur of the moment fix and I used the tools at hand. I didn’t feel like driving to the house to get the Dremel.
