I have always thought that, "saved by grace" means that we cannot earn it . It's only by grace because not one of us is worthy on our own. BUT that does not mean we are to continue to sin and live a sinful life. Once saved we must stop our sinful living such as fornicating and so forth. I heard it once say that if you truly believe and truly saved you won't want to continue to live that life. I feel guilty when I sin. I have to ask forgiveness. I no longer want to live a sinful life. We are saved by grace but that's not a ticket to continue to sin.

Well the famous preacher Billy Graham always said that repentance was not just asking God for forgiveness but turning away from your sin to live a new & more Holy life in Christ and to be born again. Repentance has to be real we turn from our old life to a new life in Jesus. There has to be a change in us and our attitude. I am in agreement with you. We will fail as we are all sinners but their will be growth as a Christian as well. I always think of what Jesus said on this subject and it certainly always stated what we had done or not done to others we had also not done or done to Him and by their fruits you will know them. @Jesus.Bridged.The__Gap2 жыл бұрын
@tony bressie …Amen! 🙌🏻 I feel that the best example of salvation in terms of who truly has it and who does not is written in the parable of the sower. If you haven’t read that yet, read it, or read it again very slowly, meditating upon each seed. It shows how some people come to God with joy but, they don’t have real faith and don’t take root inwardly. They end up falling away when wolves in sheeps clothing deceive them. They walk away when life gets hard or, choked out by the cares of this world. It also shows how some people grow slowly and appear unsaved but, they run the race with patience and eventually, they do grow. This is a paraphrase. I recommend reading the parable of the sower to gain better understanding and wisdom. Even those of us who understand more than the average, God can always show us something new when we read again. There is never a point that we should say oh I know that because God can always show us something new. He can always give us a new revelation and what we already thought we knew. That’s why it is important for Christians to always stay teachable. I don’t say that just for you, but myself as well. 👍🙌🏻✝️🕊

Entering into this discussion is the issue of who is actually preaching hyper grace....or are there those who are simply defining grace to counter many who preach a mixed grace message. Paul also addressed this with the Galatians and actually called it another gospel (a mixing of grace and works). I would say that Calvinism is a hyper grace gospel. For them its all up to God who is saved or who is not. So if I'm saved I can live however I want because I'm one of the elect. Persons like Joseph Prince, Creflo Dollar and Andrew Wommack don't preach hyper grace but they are often touted on ones who do. They don't preach lasciviousness or licentiousness. Therefore they aren't preaching hyper grace. I don't think there are many pastors in the body of Christ who are preaching "hyper grace" except for the Calvinists. I do wish we would lose labels like hyper this or that. When we do that we lose the context of the doctrine. We simply need to define grace and its outworkings then were better able to know if were living in it.
@johndavolta31242 ай бұрын
While Calvinism theoretically could go to the "hyper-grace" extreme, in practicality, 99% of Calvinists believe in the "perseverance of the saints", which is a doctrine that teaches that God will preserve the saints in the good walk and keep them in the faith. Technically if a person claims to have faith, but no aspect of their life show that in any way, that person was never saved to begin with. That right there neuters the supposed "hyper-grace" Calvinism could lead to. Now, to your question "who is actually hyper-grace?" I would say definitely anything that subscribes to the _Free Grace Theology_ coined by Zane Hodges/Bob Wilkin camp and to an extend the Fred Lybrand camp (Free Grace Alliance…although they are less heretical than the Hodges-Wilkin camp). They do actually teach that faith is just an _intellectual persuasion_ about some facts about Jesus, and our actions don't matter in any way, shape, or form either before or AFTER justification except for the matter of rewards. Sanctification is totally optional and is initiated, maintained and finished by our own actions, but nevertheless optional as justification doesn't cause anything in the life of a believer. Now, while not every follower of _Free Grace Theology_ is trying to intentionally live a life of debauchery, the theology itself could lead to such life and we wouldn't know about it since people are not required to continue in the faith at all. Also to add that the overwhelming majority of _Free Grace_ adherents are also part of the KJV-Only cult, making their theology sectarian in some ways.

@Eric Murrill They reject the true gospel that says we must repent of sin. They replace Repent with Trust. The law made us aware of sin. It's up to us to acknowledge and repent of sin. The only way to obtain grace is to repent of sin then by doing so we show the fruit of being a true believer. Acts 26:20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. Only those who have repented and renounced sin are under Grace. Paul's warning Romans 2:4-8 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? 5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” a 7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

A lot of people who think you can lose your salvation think gracers use a license to sin and, that’s not me but, I believe we are saved by faith alone. We are justified by faith alone but, the person who uses it for a license to sin has no reverence and fear of the Lord. I haven’t watched your videos enough to know where you stand about losing salvation or not. Let me make it clear that a person cannot lose their salvation however, they can lose what they seem to have. When I think about it, I think about the parable of the sower. A person who says they believe in Jesus Christ yet, the seed does not take root in their heart, they are not truly saved. It’s not that a person gets saved and loses it. That cannot happen. If the Holy Spirit seals a person, that seal cannot be broken but, if the seed does not take root, that person has not actually been sealed. I fully believe in repentance but I know people who believe that repentance is a work. That’s ludicrous to me because it’s all throughout the Bible that we must repent. Here's a few. 2 Peter 2:20-22 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” g and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.” Even Paul was concerned that he could loose his Salvation if he didn't control his flesh. 1 Corinthians 9:27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. John 15:5-6 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Baloney David, I'm only halfway through this video and I believe you don't understand hyper-grace! They're not promoting a license to sin, but that our hearts have been changed and you won't want to sin. Paul said to the Romans, "You have obeyed from the heart that form of Doctrine which was delivered to you." It's about living from your new heart instead of from pressure, conformity, and guilt which demanding sermons create. Paul himself was accused of preaching hyper-grace, Rom. 6:1-2. And I'm not trying to cover my sin, when I lose the battle it drives me half nuts giving place to the enemy. Disturbingly wrong here. Times innumerable I have heard these preachers deny what you are accusing them of. Your misrepresentation infuriates me and my baloney detector has exploded!

You would probably chatacterize me and some preachers i enjoy as hypergrace, but I've never heard any say grace is a license to do whatever you want. You could levy the same accusation at someone who thinks they need to repent of every sin. They might feel they can do whatever they want as long as they say sorry after.

My only comment about the biblical context of this subject is that the adulterous woman had a case incomplete. The law from the Torah required at least two witnesses and both sinning parties to be stoned. Jesus wrote the Law, but He was not to abolish it and He respected the legality of the situation, which is why the accusers, who tried to pervert the Law, disappeared.

We all develop and realise mistaken beliefs we previously held. Which makes our duty to lovingly and gently correct our brethren and expose false teachers and leaders in our church even more important and crucial. When doing so we have to follow and uphold the biblical qualifications of the elders and overseers (Titus, 1 Timothy) and the established church discipline in Matthew 18 and 1 Corinthians 5. Many Christians are deceived and led down to the wrong path by heretical churches or leaders and false teachers, because no one follows or upholds these principles. Ezekiel's watchman passages in chapters 3, 33 and inbetween show that we are responsible for the sins and false doctrines of our brethren, although I accept that some may have a different interpretation. We have to judge our brethren, but it must be a righteous judgment and not based on hipocricy. Hyper-Grace churches will deny accountability, repentance, church discipline and our duties, it's all about the free lunch and their self-elevation into the spiritual realm.

You will go to hell if you turn from sin. The most dangerous part is that they say "we don't encourage people to sin..." But when people stop living a life of sin, they get labeled as "self-righteous" They are heretics!

Rev22:15 - the apostate believers are likely consigned to eternity OUTSIDE the new heaven gates. This is the punishment for God's children who pursued to enrich their souls on earth at the expense of their eternal destiny (The Lord Jesus issued this warning of losing the soul and everyone to be judged according to their works in Mat16). This sowing of the carnal desires masquerading as Spirit leading His mature sons of Rom8:14, could be reaping the outer darkness outside heaven's gates. Rev22:15- "For without (outside the heaven's gates mentioned in the context of Rev22:14, check out the Greek word) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." Note the " whosoever loveth and maketh a lie". Also, check out Col3:5 for the NT definition of idolatry.

Somebody needs to do a video on the heresy of legalism and law keeping salvation. Are we saved by our performance? what saves us? You say grace, but you mean works and appearances. If you don't see it, that person is not saved. This is HERESY. No way to get around it. It's the problem with Armenian theology. You know your preaching Grace correctly when people are so concerned about "a license to sin." Focusing on sin and your self-improvement plan will not work. You will fail. You must focus on your relationship with God and not keeping rules. When you focus on your relationship, guess what happens....you start following the rules. The same spirit of the Pharisees is in the church today. People eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil over and over again. Pretending to be God. God is concerned about the heart. Not your flawed understanding of obedience. Obedience flows from love. This type of teaching bears no fruit. It is full of fear mongering and judgement.

Romans 8:1-8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Yes Keep Acts 16:27-31 in context, continue to the next 2 scriptures. Acts 16:32-33 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. (Since we know from Acts 2:38 and forward that water baptism was for the final outward appearance of repentance after they repented of sin) We can surmise what the word of the Lord was to him Repent of sin since the next verse says he and his household were all baptized. 33At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. No one was water baptized to affirm the death of the old man and the Spiritual birth of the new man until they repented of sin. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 3:19 REPENT YE therefore, and be converted ( believe), that YOUR SINS MAY BE BLOTTED OUT, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Paul: Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at but but now commandeth all men every where to REPENT. Acts 20:21 21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, REPENTANCE toward God, AND FAITH (believe) toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they SHOULD REPENT and turn to God, AND DO WORKS MEET FOR REPENTANCE Repentance of sin is the evidence of truly believing.

Any believed in one’s own actions being the primary reason someone will go to heaven has a heart as cold as the Pharisees whom Christ chastised and called “white washed tombs”. Beautiful with works on the outside yet dead and cold on the inside. Only God’s grace and the Blood of His son Jesus save you. Your works will not! Regarding the verses you quoted me, ,I'm of course I believe in repenting and changing your mind and turning from your sin.. with regards to the verse and context for the Apostle Paul speaking of the corinthians, most likely the people he's talking about were not true believers but he would also admonish the true believers to not continue walking in carnal fleshly ways but remind them who they are in Christ as he does in Romans also.. I must regards to the two versus in revelations, those are cryptic subjects but the one verse I would say definitely refers to Jezebel and cross-references her but in Old testament but not intended for True believers the second Revelation verse is also cryptic and it's definitely not intended for True Born again believers. To reiterate what I was saying in my previous comment ,is that we don't do this to be more forgiven or to be saved again and again.. do you believe you can lose your salvation and regain it and lose it again? It is clear that one cannot claim a positional identity as a new creation without the practical reality of living a godly life. The truth is scripture proves OSAS, and Eternal Security are very real for the believer. A true believer in Christ can never be cast out of the body of Christ. No amount of repenting of your sin will ever earn your way into Heaven, and your performance has nothing to do with salvation itself under the new covenant/testament. There was a sin problem in the Old Testament, yes. The wages of sin is death. Jesus died once and for all for the sin of the world. All we have to do for salvation itself, is truly believe in Jesus Christ in our heart, then we become baptized by the Holy Spirit of promise and sealed with the Holy Spirit to the day of redemption. Religious Christians need to stop spreading false gospels that our performance has to do with our salvation itself. It’s made VERY CLEAR over and over and over again, it’s Christ’s performance that saves us, it’s HIS finished work, he’s OUR savior, we are not our own saviors. As Christians we have the assurance of salvation, you cannot accidently burp out your salvation, and God will discipline his children as he sees fit. But God won't force people into heaven so OSAS is not biblically correct. Also, there are plenty of verses warning Christians about falling away; they're easy to find. Let me know if you want a few. Also, if you want to be more effective with your points, maybe stop putting an impractically long list of verse references that nobody will read.

I noticed that you listed Hebrews 10:39, as your proof text for OSAS. I would encourage you to read that verse in it's context before using it as a proof. Hebrews 10:26-31,39 KJV For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God....... [39] But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Somehow I wonder if you really believe there are a host of "Hypergrace Preachers" running around deceiving the masses who are on a fast track to Hell. If you really do. . .why not name some of these scoundrels? I would be very interested in knowing if my Pastor, for instance, is one of those perfidious preachers. So. . . how about telling us who the preachers are who are preaching that it's okay to fornicate the night away?

Start with Joseph Prince, Andrew Farley, and Rob Rufus, and pretty much the entire seeker sensitive "church" of which I used to be a part. First, understand the difference between a repentant sinner...one who is at war with sin and his flesh, and those who live in unrepentant sin, that show no sign of regeneration. Their lives bare no difference from a pagan. None of the hyper gracers will say its "ok" to live an unrepentant life, but they will simply say sin will bring earthly "problems", and "loss of heavenly reward", but they wont say they need to "repent". We are instructed over and over again to repent, repent, repent. If you find yourself in the position of arguing against repentance (as I once did), you are arguing against Christ himself. While I dont damn anybody to hell, I certainly am not going to gamble my salvation against the clear words of Christ and the Apostles so that I can hope to have my sin and Heaven too. Christ died to free us from sin, so that we are no longer a slave to sin, not to enable our sin. We cannot serve two masters.

@@AJTramberg this video is so deceptive and he is really sending against God. He’s bearing false witness on so many teachers. None of those teachers that you mention teach the stuff that David is talking about. No but I sure can identify the works based heresy. Right here. There is no such thing as hyper grace. There is only one kind of grace. If it is by grace it is not longer by works, lest grace be NO LONGER GRACE.

I'm not so sure if "dam-able heresy" is the right way to describe it. It is a dangerous philosophy for when one caters to the flesh, sin can mature and salvation is in danger of being lost. There are plenty of verses in the bible that warn about falling away for a Christian. But also note 1 Cor 10:23: "All things are lawful, "but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. But I certainly agree that "hyper grace" runs the serious danger of losing salvation if sin in one's life grows unchecked.

@@Rbl7132 Christians have assurance of salvation; not OSAS. That is to say, if you remain heading west on highway Y, you will surely reach city Z - even if there are detours and bumps in the road. But if you then choose to turn your car around to go east, you won't reach city Z.

I agree with you, but some hyper-gracers actually turn their doctrine of OSAS into the gospel. What they don't realize is that they are saying that one have to believe that he can't lose salvation in addition to believing in specific, but limited, facts about Christ before he could be saved. Therefore, elevating the doctrine of OSAS to the same spot as Christ. As a result, they become idolaters, in addition to heretics. Both of which will completely damn their souls.

Amen brother. I’ve never seen so many self deceived Christians. They all say you have to repent of their sins to be saved and to stay saved. Most wallow in self righteousness and pride. Both very ambiguous sins no one can actually see therefore they must be saved. I’ve walked through all that crap and it’s a ridiculous statement to think it’s salvation to stop sinning somehow.
