True challenge: rowboat only. I once spent two hours sailing across the seas with a rowboat full of treasure I refused to abandon after my ship sank. I was looking for an Outpost to sell my goodies at and searching every island I came across. I even had snake friends in cages I had found, having found that as long as I kept rowing and had played music beforehand they would stay friendly. And eventually, I made it, I found an Outpost! I did it, victory at last! 3 AM and I was feeling great. However, the celebration would not last. Alas, a curse would befall me. Death. I don't know how or why. All I know is that I was jumping around and suddenly just died. Never heard a gunshot, so I don't think someone else shot me. I had barely sold my treasure, a big load of 10 high quality chests and multiple skulls from killing skeletons on the islands I had explored (technically also the snake friends, but I never would have sold them), when it happened. I was crushed. My snake friends I had been with for 1 and a half hours and 30 minutes respectively, who I'd spend multiple minutes positioning on the rowboat to face me as I rowed, were gone. My many chests and skulls, gone. My rowboat, the chest of which was stocked with many fruits, fish, cannonballs, and fireworks, also gone. A sad day indeed. I have not played much sea of thieves since, but I'd still love to see someone triumph where I could not. Please Kevin, I implore you, adventure again on the seas. Do what the gods cheated me out of, bring a rowboat to victory!

I did something similar the first time I played the game with my brother, we weren't really playing it seriously and after a while we abandoned our ship and stuck to our rowboat instead, lovingly calling it the The Sloop Jr. It ended up being stolen and we were honestly distraught - genuinely couldn't care less about the treasure we'd found but they took our stupid little boat and we haven't played together since (but that's partially because I didn't realise how bad my anxiety would get meeting other people online ✌). It's seriously fascinating watching Kevin interact with other players. You can really see how he manages to change all social rules through his comedy, even in a freaking game, an environment where norms are very strictly mandated by game mechanics.
