I thought the same thing at one time until I engaged in a back and forth in a comment thread on one of his videos and found out that he is just an 80-10-10 guy. He was always talking about low fat and I had to ask a couple of times for that to be qualified because vegetarian, vegan, and whole plant food eaters use that term but never say what is "low fat". Also, I looked up the soy estrogen Muller paper that he barely referenced here, had to dig through his channel a few minutes ago to try to find a video with more details and links. He had enough detail on one slide of a video that I was able to google track it down. No links / citations in his description or show notes or his pinned comment, but he takes the time to comment like crazy. Anyhow, the "Muller paper" yes does look at flavonoids and estrogen receptor activation (alpha and beta) BUT the tables and data and paper itself lacks clarity. The only mention RAT data one time and that reference in the body of the paper is to another Muller study. Then the citations / references at the end of the study has a scattering of data from rat studies as well as pig studies too. If they are looking at human data when why all the animal studies in that paper and why would you just conclude that the one paper with Muller has to be the right one about the subject when they clearly used data from animal studies as well? If they culled out the animal study data then why even have them in the citations as they wouldn't apply? Maybe the paper is right, maybe not but the water is very muddy even with the study that Dr Rogers referenced here. I can wager from his glossing over details that matter and sinking his teeth into other details that he is pretty heavy on personal bias and might ignore lots of other data that matters to, sometimes at the expense of the truth that he thinks he has. No, clearly, in general he right about diet and exercise but who doesn't already know that we should eat as much plants as we can? Who doesn't know that we need to exercise, learn to relax, and be spiritual? Okinawan diet (traditional) has soy product in it and the used to be the longest living peoples. Loma Linda Adventists are at the top and they use lots of soy products. Soy, believe the questionable paper from the guy who talks fast and doesn't directly link sources on his own pages so people can read for themselves? Or the millions of people over decades that live a healthy lifestyle that quite often, includes soy and yet....they are living longer with less disease and longer health spans as well.

For patients who are trying to lose weight he recommend they eat more calories from veggies, typically 30%, but if need be up to a maximum of 50%. He says that one cannot go beyond that on veggies or run into problems.

He says all fat is bad, but the science showing that mono and especially polyunsaturated fats have beneficial outcomes in humans when we look at the trials. He talks about the flow mediated dilation being clamped when you eat some fat with your meal, but this is something that happens with other beneficial things too. For example, exercise causes a slowing of blood flow as well, flow mediated dilation is inhibited with exercise but we all know exercise is good for you. If we only look at the mechanism, we'd have to recommend that no one exercise. Mechanisms are important, but you have to look at outcomes as well.

FMD is improved by exercise. All the research shows that.
@b.porterv74184 ай бұрын
@@vegsource but not initially, it is improved over time by consistent exercise. My point is that if we look at FMD immediately after exercise and see that it is not improved but worsened, we might erroneously conclude that we shouldn't exercise. Same thing is happening with fats. Dr Rogers is looking at the immediate results of olive oil or nuts and concluding that we shouldn't eat them, but over time they improve artery function.
@vegsource4 ай бұрын
@@b.porterv7418 Regarding the question about studies measuring FMD after exercise, there have been several studies on this topic. Here's what some of the research shows: 1. Acute effects of exercise on FMD: Several studies have shown that a single bout of exercise can improve FMD. For example, a study by Tinken et al. (2009) found that 30 minutes of moderate-intensity cycling improved FMD in healthy individuals. 2. Long-term effects of exercise training on FMD: Regular exercise training has been shown to improve baseline FMD over time. A meta-analysis by Ashor et al. (2015) found that aerobic exercise training significantly improved FMD in various populations. 3. Exercise and high-fat meal interactions: Interestingly, some studies have looked at how exercise might mitigate the negative effects of a high-fat meal on FMD. For instance, Padilla et al. (2006) found that prior exercise could prevent the decrease in FMD typically seen after a high-fat meal. 4. Intensity-dependent effects: The impact of exercise on FMD might depend on exercise intensity. A study by Birk et al. (2013) suggested that high-intensity interval exercise might lead to greater improvements in FMD compared to moderate-intensity continuous exercise. 5. Time course of FMD changes: Johnson et al. (2012) examined the time course of FMD changes after acute exercise, finding that improvements could last for several hours post-exercise. These studies suggest that exercise generally has a positive effect on FMD, both acutely and chronically. However, the exact impact can vary based on factors like exercise intensity, duration, and the individual's baseline health status. Both acute and long-term exercise positively impact flow-mediated dilation (FMD). A few trends and findings from the latest research are noteworthy: 1. **Personalized Exercise Responses**: Recent studies have begun to explore how individual variability, such as genetic factors, baseline fitness, and age, can influence the FMD response to exercise. For example, a 2021 study by Lind et al. found that individuals with lower baseline FMD showed more pronounced improvements after exercise training, suggesting that the vascular benefits of exercise might be more significant in those with poorer vascular health. 2. **Exercise in Different Populations**: More recent research has also expanded to diverse populations, including those with chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. For instance, a 2022 study by Fritzen et al. reported that patients with type 2 diabetes experienced significant improvements in FMD following a structured exercise program, underscoring the importance of exercise for cardiovascular health in at-risk populations. 3. **Comparisons Between Exercise Modalities**: There's ongoing interest in comparing the effects of different exercise modalities on FMD. A 2023 review by Reed et al. synthesized findings from recent trials and concluded that both aerobic and resistance training can improve FMD, but the effects might differ based on the duration and intensity of the exercise regimen. 4. **Longitudinal Studies**: Some newer longitudinal studies have extended the observation periods to assess the sustainability of FMD improvements from exercise. A 2023 study by Thompson et al. tracked FMD changes over a year-long exercise program, finding that consistent, moderate-intensity exercise led to sustained improvements in FMD, whereas gains from high-intensity training were more dependent on continued participation. 5. **Mechanistic Insights**: Recent studies are also delving deeper into the mechanisms behind exercise-induced FMD improvements. A 2022 study by Chan et al. examined the role of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) upregulation, which was found to be a key mediator in the exercise-induced enhancement of FMD, particularly in response to aerobic exercise. These studies suggest that while the general benefits of exercise on FMD are well-established, ongoing research is providing more detailed insights into how different factors influence these effects, helping to tailor exercise recommendations for optimal vascular health.

Atheistic Darwinism is the default option to Christianity in the Western world. Christianity glorifies mankind = says that he is created in the image of God; that all men are equal in the eyes of God; that everyone's life is meaningful; that God loves us. Atheism says that humans are just talking primates, talking monkeys: as your Avatar indicated. Atheism says that life is meaningless; that people have no soul; that there is no afterlife; that people are just farm animals owned by their ruler; that we have no obligation to obey the tend commandments or any other rules, except what a ruller forces us to do. Atheism is bleak. That's why atheists stink at everything = they stink at painting,sculpture, literature, science. Saying that life is meaningless is not inspiring.

You can't have large scale good science with ethics. You can't have societal ethics without religion. Thus you can't have a reliable science system without religion. Modern USA is run on atheistic Darwinism; look at what it has done: public schools are all fake; premed program is fake at all schools, all medical schools are fake (students are never taught NETS = Nutrition, Epidemiology, Toxicology, Sunshine-Stress management-Social support-Spiritual (religion issues). That's why they can NEVER cure chronic disease. Honest science of low fat vegan diet can easily cure obesity, hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis, constipation, much of autoimmune disease, etc.

@@PeterRogersMD I find it remarkable that you attempt to character assassinate someone on the basis of their religious beliefs. I find this particularly distasteful in that you are a guest on Jeff Nelsons channel, and moreover had Dr. John McDougall as a lead in to your talk. If you want to respond negatively to comments on your own channel you should do so with all the moral fastidiousness you can muster. However to do so with the implied backdrop of Dr. McDougall is reprehensible. In my opinion, your Hollingsworth gap theory seems to have backfired in spectacular fashion.

Oh, I forgot. Atheists prefer statues of terds over the Pieta. And modern art $ londering "paintings" over renaissance & pre-Rapaelite art. And buildings that look like animal cages over Cathedrals. And action movies with special effects (designed for dummies) over films like "it's a wonderful life." Atheists prefer bleak bs like "winter holiday" over the beauty, warmth, and magnificence of Christmas. Christianity takes the middle of winter, and turns it into the brightest day of the year. They are the light of the world!
