Well done Steve! Beautifull zander, I don't like deadbait fishing, but again, using circle hooks, it makes me feel better about this method. It's really clean. You are a very good fisherman and I have a lot of respect for people like you!
@BlackCountryPiker3 жыл бұрын
Ahh thank you very much, that’s very kind of you. Out of interest, why the dislike to deadbait?
@Noname-dd6ly3 жыл бұрын
@@BlackCountryPiker I don't like it in the sense that 90% of people who fish for pike with deadbaits use treble hooks and I find that it doesn't make sense, the proof is in your videos. I also fish statically but not for pike, I fish a lot for carp in particular. For me, the pike caught with a dead fish does not have the explosiveness that it has when attacking a fly or a lure. This is only my opinion of course but in fresh water, fishing with dead fish does not give me any sensation. But the Englishman is basically a great float fishing angler so I understand that he loves to see a float moving and sinking. ;)
@BlackCountryPiker3 жыл бұрын
Ahh I see, no I can see what you mean. There really is nothing like a pike hitting any lure. The thrill is completely different and well all have a right to an opinion 👍👍👍👍

Result! Well done on the pb… I had my biggest Zander 20 months ago but had no scales (gutted), found you on FB so will send you a photo to see if you estimate it’s weight for me (I know pics don’t do them justice) not had a pike on circle hooks as yet but trying ;-) but can say I love the positioning when I have had a few Zeds on them! Thank you, it’s kind of like a scaled down pike set up. Rod - Korum twin tip (1.75lb tip used) Reel - shimano 4000 bait runner Line - 12lb maxima straight through to the wire trace Then, line stop, a bead then an 8g or 10g zeppler style float. That goes down to a running rig with a half ounce or 1 ounce weight. A fox twist snap at the bottom for quick change of hook. Then I use a size 4/0 single hook wire trace
