I'm 22 years old, and I have come across the wrong teaching methods so far. Especially, in my high school years. Every English teacher that I met tried to learn English by memorizing words, reading a lot, solving problems, filling the gaps, etc. You know it. But they haven't pointed out the importance of speaking and communication. I see the importance of communication through learning English with myself. We have always been scared of making mistakes and talking about anything. They said to us that you have to be excellent while you are speaking. However, there is a misconception. Because most people don't speak perfectly their first language, why do I have to speak perfectly? After many years, I noticed it, and now I focus on speaking, practicing every single day. Furthermore, I don't care about making mistakes because I'm a human...

Khan Academy: "Nobody’s born smart. We all start at 0. Can’t talk, can’t walk, certainly can’t do algebra. Adding, reading, writing, riding a bike. Nobody’s good at anything at first. There was a time when Einstein couldn’t count to 10. And Shakespeare had to learn his ABCs just like the rest of us. Thankfully, we are born to learn. Slowly. Surely. You stumble, slip, crawl, fall and fail and fall. Frustrating. Confusing. Trying. Struggling. Until one day, you walk. One foot in front of the other. One idea on top of the next. Each wrong answer making your brain a little bit stronger. Failing is just another word for growing. And you keep going. This. is. learning. It’s not that you don’t get it. You just don’t get it, yet. Because the most beautiful, complex concepts in the whole universe are built on basic ideas that anyone, anywhere can understand. Whoever you are, wherever you are. You only have to know one thing: You can learn anything."

Christian first of all thank you very much for your time and your dedication. You are right when you say that you can't buy fluency, I speak Spanish French, English and now I'm learning Italian the two last languages that i've learned, I've learnded 'with the natural way, NO grammar, no Rules. I know that my English is not perfect, I know that I'm going to make mistakes. So, what! I happy to be able to communicate. I can speak and I know that I'm going to improve step by step. Don't waste your time with grammar, grammar only like a tool for understanding concrete thing, as less as you can, only the necessary. Read while you listen and please listen, listen, listen. That allows you to improve every day. create the time. No excuses don't say " I don't have time" if learn a language is something that you want to do, create this slot of time. Do that, every single day.... that’s all. Thank you very much Christian for being transparent and explaining all these things. I follow you and I really appreciate what you do. Eres un gran tipo.

Many books are not updated and using their grammar makes me feel like a robot. Thanks for your channel. 👏

Thanks Christian! I love your "non-commercial" approach. The best way to learn real English is actually speaking English in real life. And I like this information about pre-made phrases we use, it really makes sense, also I noticed that these phrases depend on context, what situation you're in at the moment of speaking about particular things. This thoughts reminds me about "sugar concept". The concept is that people learned to make simple foods like sugars, bread etc. by breaking or splitting natural food into simple parts easy to store, transport, replicate and spread among the people. But we all know that this type of food is dangerous for our health, sugars work in wrong way. We need more than just separated carbohydrates. The more natural food (without artificial intervention) we eat, the healthier we become. Same thing with learning English. When you absorb split parts of language , like words, even sentences, it is not working, even if you know types of words (verb, adjective, ...). Children learn language without all that academic stuff, they absorb the whole situation and phrases that are being spoken in that context and even emotions/needs they feel in that moment. So, Christian, you make me think about learning English as absorbing nutrients from food, now I strive to take natural food as it is, to absorb not just concentrate/isolated elements, but food product as a whole. This meaningful content gives me motivation to continue learning English. I really like the channel, thanks a lot Christian and all those who support the channel!

The best way to learn a language as spoken, in my own experience, is to live the language. I learned a lot more by natural, authentic communication than I did in a classroom or by, heaven forbid, watching KZbin tutorials. You make mistakes, correct where necessary, and then continue to live the language. It’s natural, communicative, and social. Less of the rambling as I now need to watch this video.
