I don't own this camera, I don't plan on owning this camera, I just like watching your content because it's just well put together. It doesn't really matter what the topic is. I'm sure you got a huge boost during the iPhone camera reviews vs... and they were all interesting, but I like the videos because of your rational thought processes. I think that's why people watch you, Gerald, Armando, etc. because it's nice to find people just in the world that think critically and apply sound logic about a given topic.

I’m super happy I upgraded to the C70 for my rowing documentary project. It’s so game changing not having to deal with external ND filters and having some RF glass from owning the Eos R.
@corail532 жыл бұрын
You do know that built in ND filters have been a thing in camera's for decades, right. It was a feature that went away when everyone decided that DSLR's were the form factor to shoot everything in because of cheapness. There is nothing game changing about this camera at all.

The best C70 Review. The restaurant had a awesome background. Great job.

Awesome review! For me its a bit tough to choose between this and the BMPCC6K Pro. The 6K sensor, 1500nit screen, BMD OS, price, and image quality are tough to pass up on. The original selling point for me with the C70 was the autofocus, but after seeing multiple reviews say it isn't as accurate as one might hope, that knocks it down a few notches for me in comparison to the pluses of the 6K pro. Also, you can throw the battery grip on the 6K pro and the footage becomes even more stable with great battery life. Tough choice overall, though.

I looooove my C70 compared to other cinema cameras I’ve shot on. This was the perfect balance between having the features (minus RAW and full sized ports) of a C300 Mk III especially with all the buttons and built-in ND, and the portability of a DSLR. It’s such a great in-between camera. Not to mention I love RF glass and the image stabilization that comes with all the RF L glass like the 15-35, 24-70, 70-200 f2.8. It really has blown me away.

Autofocus seems a little off (I have a big 4k monitor so it's enough to bother me). Comparison shot with Eos R seemed less sharp? Back focused? This needs eye autofocus. This comes from a c100 user who has struggled with the focus at times.

I think you have missed out on two things. Only three EF-Lenses are fully approved so far, and especially with some older lenses (like my beloved EF 85 mm F 1,2) you lose some functionalities). On the other hand, the object tracking AF option is an amazing tool, very helpful, as well as the „face only“ tracking option. Great stuff for solo operators.

I'm trying to decide between C70 and C200. The lack of an EVF is a significant factor, even though the C70 has a lot of features that the current C200 lacks. But when all else fails. I want my Mk I eyeball looking through the lens, and that means some kind of viewfinder. Right now, I have an XC10, and I rely on that viewfinder, especially when shooting outdoors.

Great review, Tyler. Two quick questions: So what happens if you put an EF-mount APS-C lens on the C70, like the 18-35 Sigma - you'd still need the Canon .71X adapter for EF, but would it work? Also, with full frame EF glass and adapter, does the auto-focus and stabilization work well?
