Thanks! I'm actually excited to hear that because the Rebel will take your photography and videography to a whole new level. I'm making the follow up video now on the t8i's advanced features. They are really fun to experiment with.

You will love it. I've tried other camera brands to save money and had major problems. My Rebel is one of the most reliable products I own. Canon is a reliable brand much like Dewalt is when buying tools.

Thanks, this really helped on the quick start. I just got my camera a couple of days ago.....so basically I am new to all of this; I have always loved photography and taking pictures, and now I am able to do this (even in my later years...it's never too late to learn) Thank you again

I'm right there with you. I just started learning to play rock music on the banjo. A guy I talked to said I was past my prime for learning music. I told him I wasn't going to let his youth and inexperience be a factor. lol

Just purchased my T8i today and this video was excellent! Love the way you simplified everything. My favorite go to line for any instruction that may be a challenge is " break it down to me as if I were a 2 year old" lol. This video was just perfection! New subscriber here. Going to check out you part 2 and other videos as well. Thanks for the upload.

Which flashes should I buy for it ? affordable as well
@RayStein3 жыл бұрын
I use the built in one but I would stay with the cannon external models such as the Canon Speedlite EL-100.

Does the flash not automatically pop up (while camera is in auto mode) when flash is needed? For T8i????
@RayStein Жыл бұрын
I put on autofocus and make sure the green bar is lined up on the dial. Then the flash will come on automatically unless you have the flash disabled. There is a flash symbol in the menu. Make sure the flash in set to on.
@Chickens4Lu Жыл бұрын
@@RayStein Flash is set on. Green bar lined up on dial. But unless I raise the flash manually - nothing happens. In order for the flash to work on this camera I must raise the flash myself. THEN if it decides it needs the flash it will fire or not fire. But I have to raise the flash manually. It will not pop up by itself.
@RayStein Жыл бұрын
@@Chickens4Lu I had the same issue. I watched this video and it worked for me: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGO1g51vor1rha8
@Chickens4Lu Жыл бұрын
@@RayStein Unfortunately on the t8i this video does not work. If you have a t8i it IS working on - please make a video. LOL! There simply is no way I can see to that will activate the flash to auto pop up. The guy specifically says - see the little flash icon on the front/side of the camera? Push that button. Nope. Doesn't have one.
@Chickens4Lu Жыл бұрын
ALso - he is speaking about when it is in manual mode. He points out that in auto mode, you just depress the shutter button half way and if needed the flash pops up. But it doesn't. APPARENTLY as far as I can tell - if you want a flash on this camera you must manually raise the flash.

I'm only 3 minutes into the video, and wow. I'm pretty handy but I would have gotten this camera and think hows the battery go in, and how does the lens go on but not only that but who in the heck do I line it up. Everyone talks soooo fast and sooo hard to keep up. Thanks for the keeping it simple for us beginners.

Great video! I just recently bought a T8i and it’s the first camera I have owned so I’m pretty new to how they work. Was wondering if you know if there’s a way to get rid of/lower the glare from the sun when filming?
@RayStein2 жыл бұрын
They have lens covers that help and are inexpensive. They screw onto the end of your lens and protect the glass as well. I like to shoot with the light behind me and sometimes shoot in the shade whenever possible. I hope that helps.

Hi Ray, Your tutorials are excellent and extremely helpful. I'm using the 8Ti for photographing art work with lighting in my studio. Can you suggest the right feature I should use for best results? Av perhaps? I've used M on my T5i and have upgraded especially to get higher pixels. With all the advance programing on the 8Ti, I'd appreciate your input. Much thanks for all your great tips!
@RayStein2 жыл бұрын
I always use manual mode when trying to achieve perfection. I add as much light as possible. I use sun color lights and try to avoid shadows. If you can use the real sun that usually works the best. More light allows you to get better results by lowering all of your settings resulting in less grain and better focus.

Hi I would like to take a close picture but don't know how to zoom in. It zooms in but the picture still is away
@RayStein2 жыл бұрын
I would try manually zooming in by rotating the lens by hand. If that does not work the lens may not be installed correctly, could be defective or the DSLR may have a problem internally. I'm sorry to hear about that. Hopefully it is something simple. If not I would take it to a repair professional or call Canon if it is under warranty.

Hi, I set the selection dial to A (AUTO) but then in the size of the photos taken I can't set the size 16: 9. can you tell me how to take photos at 16: 9 because in the settings menu the possibility to choose the format does not appear but only the quality. Thanks
@RayStein2 жыл бұрын
I found this on Canon's website: If you playback the RAW image with the camera, frame lines indicating the aspect ratio (image area) will be displayed. Turn on the camera. ... Select the shooting mode. ... Press the button to display the menu screen. Under the [ ] tab select [Aspect ratio]. ... Select the desired setting. ... Exit the setting.
