Excited for you but be warned: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is one of the most unforgiving Fighting Games in existence at the highest levels. Hahaha. Hopefully Ranked will have enough players so it won’t be a problem. But this is a game that WILL beat you down if you aren’t ready for it. Hahaha!

Big props to the Xmen 97' people. I firmly believe without that show we wouldn't be getting this. Afterall disney/marvel only looks at these games as marketing tools for their media/merchandise

Not sure. The licensing negotiations would have likely taken alot of time, they likely would have been going long before X-men 97 was even in production. Also the changes to ROMS, the artwork, and the final presentation would have taken quite some time to get approval.

I think it's more likely that once Disney bought Fox they were willing to promote the X-Men characters again (in order to build hype for eventually including them in the films). And so things like X-Men 97 and this MvC collection got the greenlight because of that.

Once Avengers started getting stale and they were able to buy back X-Men, I feel like they immediately started looking at all the media they have had out there from the last couple decades. They went strong with the Krakoa era in the comics, they didn't waste time to put in FOX-men on Disney+, X-men 97 and now this. With Deadpool & Wolverine coming out, they're definitely going all in on X-Men again.

I grew up with these games thank you Capcom. It just brings me back memories I forgot into the Capcom fighting games when I was 13 years old my mom took me to the local laundromat and I saw his arcade cabinet called Marvel versus Capcom and I was hooked that's how my love of fighting games happen.

I'm not a Marvel Versus fans but I will buy this collection to support the chances for Capcom to greenlight MvC 4. Although, i'm worried with the lack of crossplay that this game will die pretty quick, just like what happened with *Capcom Fighting Collection* . I bought that collection on day 1 for PS4 but after a month or two, no one plays it anymore :/

Thank you for these stories James! Growing up in the arcades, it is super awesome to see a compilation of my childhood finally released on current consoles. I never knew Capcom counted "The Punisher" as it's seventh vs game in MvC2, it always said that there were 7 but I would count the prior vs games vociferously! Also please tell IFCYipes to release his excitement video for MvC2 to current consoles. lol!

For some reason, I found that Children Of The Atom was the hardest game. Even if I put the difficulty setting on one star, I’d get demolished. Loved Marvel Superheroes though. That was my fav. MvC2- just couldn’t get into it. The BGM just didn’t suit the game for me. All jazzy/ Las Vegas type music. Had to turn the BGM off.

Yeah i have the same worries. I bought Capcom Fighting Collection on day 1 but now it's a ghost town with no one playing it anymore. Crossplay is a must for this collection or people will just stick with games that has crossplay.

To be fair, the netcode for that one wasn’t as good as Fightcade. That’s one of the main reasons it didn’t catch on. If what people said in the chat is true and that the Naomi games don’t work great on Fightcade and this DOES work good, we may get a bigger player base.

Dude blame Microsoft. They probably have some dumb legal thing going on that involves Game pass. I bought MvsC2 for the 360 and when I got a XB1 it never ported over digitally because they said the XB1 doesn't have the license for my MvsC2. The same happened with other digital downloads. So Microsoft screws itself and us customers over with their nonsense so that's probably why you won't see it on there for awhile.
