Thanks for the video. Just did mine using the Capri tool flare looks great. I had to buy this tool because my Harbour Freight tool just did not work good for me.

Understood. That HF tool is not the best.

What kind of tubing are you using?

Can you do this on a Nickle Copper brake line tube 3/16". I'm getting a slightly lopsided double flare on one side, it's like it mushrooms out a bit. Have tried everything I can think of, from different amounts of grease, tightening as hard as I can, even using a file on the outside rim to chamfer before hand. What am I doing wrong? I'm beginning to think the tool may be slightly off? I only seldomly get a good flare that's uniform all the way around. I'm using The Stop Shop Copper Nickle brake line (25ft roll) Capri Tools CP21110-316 Double Flaring Tool I'm following instructions. Is it how tight I'm doing it, should I stop sooner than as tight as I can possibly get it? I'm putting in the stopper first, then loosening the 10mm bolts a bit so I can push the line flush against the stopper bolt. Then tightening the 10mm bolts down with a line wrench while holding the line against the stopper bolt. Then I'm putting included punch grease on die OP1 and tightening down till I can't no more, then repeat on OP2/SAE 4.75mm die. I'm gonna run out of line and I need my Jeep on the road

I'll see if I can buy some locally. I'll let you know when I get some.

I am having the same issue! Thinking this tool is useless at this point. Just keeps shoving my brake line back.

Thanks for the video, friend. I recently ordered this tool since my current one (the clamp version) is just frustrating. Recently flared and ran new lines on my used car only to suddenly find them all leaking fluid😔😔I was so angry. Hopefully, this one gets me better results. Dumb question: Can I flare lines that are not exactly perfectly straight? I have some already flared and connected lines on my master cylinder but they are leaking. I want to use this tool and simply make new flares on those lines instead of ordering and waiting for new lines to arrive. Is that a good option?

You’ll have to get the ends straight enough to get in the tool, but yes what you’re describing is possible.

Hope it helped with any questions you might have had. I bought it blind, and figured I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I bought it as I'll be building lines on my '57 F100 soon.

I have a kit that's about 50 years old but same principle. Only thing is there no longer to show how deep to put the line and I keep splitting it and bending it

Can you make bubble flare and if so how
@Letsroll0002 жыл бұрын
I dont think they include the foam packaging with this tool any longer. Getting a Lisle 33260 delivered today, similar principle, but I almost ordered this one. I like the foam though, wish they would have stayed with that.
@granadojl2 жыл бұрын
The kit I purchased had the option at the time to order with or without the foam tray. I figured... for a few bucks more, why not order the full kit. It's actually a real nice kit.

Did you make a bubble flare or a double flare? I thought that a double flare is what's required for a brake line. Can this tool even make a double flare?
@granadojl3 жыл бұрын
I made a double flare in this video
@Zeberka7673 жыл бұрын
@@granadojl Good to know. FYI, you mentioned in the video at 5:30 that you made a bubble flare.
@granadojl3 жыл бұрын
@@Zeberka767 The tool makes both bubble and flare. Most Metric brake systems use bubble and most SAE use double flare.

SAE Double Inverted 45 degree flare
@mattdathew27943 жыл бұрын
usually companies make similar tools for double flares & bubble flares, they would look similar on the outside but inside work differently. Look at the writings, one for double flare will be called SAE & one for bubbles I believe is called DIN.
