Need to travel the Atlantic side. That water over there is just to cold... Think in the dead of winter we use a wetsuit when it gets down in the 70's . But now, in June, water can be used for bathing...here it is June and you're using a wet suit... Ours are all put away... Love your show, love your boat, love that lifestyle, just wrong ocean..

The Wednesday before you posted this video. I rode to Virginia Beach, and to Williamsburg. I saw some catamarans on the water near some marinas. I was just drooling at seeing all the sailboats. I hope this summer I can find a girlfriend and take her sailing at a lake near my town. To renting a sailboat for a few hours. Also when you said Emma douse not like to be late. I’m glad she is not in my family. My great granddaddy. Use to raise chickens. Great grandmother and great granddaddy would be ready to go some where. They would get in the car. Then great granddaddy would say he needs to check on the chickens and he would go inside, and stay late. My granddaddy was the same way. He use to pick me up and we would go some where. But it would be hours latter. My dad is the same way.

A few years ago, during the annual Christmas phone call (from my brother's family), my nephew (born in Hawaii), was belly-achin about his mother not letting him go swimming on Christmas Eve due to the water temp. being below 80! I reminded Sean that I live in Inter-mountain Idaho and the water (ICE) temp was about 15 that day! and that to go swimming took an auger and axe! P.S. I was born in San Diego, where water temps MIGHT hit 75 at the height of summer to needing a wet suit at that temp is not too onerous! LOL

@ 07:47, those fish look like pompano, those are the very best eating! Now we are all curious about the injured ribs?
@OnboardLifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Similar, but those were Jack Crevalle. The food value is marginal at best. All of the Jack Crevalle's fins taper down into a sharp point, and the fins of a Pompano are more rounded. Another major identifying factor is the tail. A Pompano has a tail that makes a uniform V-shape while the Jack Crevalle's tail is very deeply-forked and a bit more thin.

Teal, I see your boat doesn't have mini keels, does it have dagger boards instead?
@OnboardLifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we have dagger boards. 👍
@daveamies50312 жыл бұрын
What's really interesting about Basik is the position of the dagger boards, they are a long way aft, just behind the aft wall of the bridge deck cabin. During the haul out @16:45, you can see the port dagger board poking out just below the hull slightly forward of the aft lifting strap.

@@OnboardLifestyle You have done an excellent job upgrading this boat, and keeping the boat light weight in the materials that you have used. Why are you hauling out again? What could you possibly need to do to basik. After Napa the bottom and zincs should be good. I've been in for 3 years in Puget sound with a hard finish. @OnboardLifestyle2 жыл бұрын
The La Cruz Shipyard is small but efficient. They do not have the space for storage. They are hauling boats and launching boats everyday. The boats are 3 and 4 deep in each row and in a single day may launch all of them. It was very interesting to watch the dance they must do to make it all work.
