Yep, certainly was fun Andrew! The chair was a little hard on the rear end, but utilized locally sourced and environmentally friendly material lol! I actually had to manufacture several over the time there because the bloody tide kept going up and down!

Yes, it is both pretty reliable Jaron and as you say, has very diverse species. In a 1-2 hour session I probably averaged around 30+ fish every time I fished there, nearly all of which went back (unless they were unlucky enough to be flathead, whiting or squid).

@@THEFISHINGMAFIA I am surprised you have not gotten many whiting there. It looks like prime whiting territory. Especially on worms. Maybe they just can't beat the bream and the annoying Neighbours 😂

Thanks Max - we're just lucky to be able to go there, but then there are plenty of other spots on K.I. that I would love to go to but can't! I don't think that many people realize really how few public access points there are on the island, so much of the coastline is on private property

Certainly is, and doesn't get a lot of fishing pressure because not many people can go there!

Thanks, yes it is a great spot and there are always fish there. It is private entry only - we can enter because we have property on the access road and that was one of the conditions of establishing the harbor.

You can only get in if you have pre-booked a fishing charter or you are a local resident with access rights and a key.

This is Western River marina, just round the headland from Western River Cove.

Really enjoyed these CF. Very relaxed and plenty of fish, what more could you ask?? There must be some amazing fishing along that coastline. Haven't been to KI since the early 80s, must be time to go again, once all the borders settle. Hope they are recovering from the fires as best they can. Cheers & thanks for sharing. PP

Thanks, glad you are enjoying them! The fishing is certainly good, but we have noticed a drop off in both numbers and size in the last few years and put it down to massively increased tourism and more boat pressure. I mentioned the fire damage several times and also have a couple of vids in the K.I. playlist that were made immediately after and then 6 months after the 2020 fires - worth a look! The change in just 12 months is pretty amazing, but of course the loss of large mature trees will take decades to recover.
