I can see how that noise could be quite annoying. I was surprised at the amount of dirt that accumulated after cleaning out the ditch. Then again, it hadn't been cleaned out in ten years. Thanks for the update on the youtube yacht project. Have a blessed and safe week, and please stay healthy.

It kind of surprised me as well! A lot had accumulated. That area goes under water every year as well from the river coming up, so there is additional deposit from that which may be why it had built up so much.

After losing multiple teeth I started welding the keeper to the tooth, top and bottom. If you do it with the bucket on the machine, disconnect the battery cables as the welder might mess with your alternator. Been there done that, cost me $450.
@CaptainKleeman4 жыл бұрын
Some lessons are pricey. So you’re saying not weld the tooth to the bucket, but just the keeper so it doesn’t break and fall out? Have pretty good luck with that?
@davidmorse84324 жыл бұрын
@@CaptainKleeman Actually I ended up welding all five teeth to the shanks because dirt would get packed in to the space between the tooth and shank and make the tooth work it's way off. More difficult to replace but careful torching or a process called air-arc can cut thru the weld so a new tooth can be installed. I hate loose teeth. This is the final solution but if you do it use the 7018 rods. The 6011 shrinks too much and the weld will crack because ground engaging metal is highly tempered.
