The common tyrant mod is to basically cut off the handle and flip in upside down so the priming bar is on the bottom. Love the k26 series btw!

I love the Tyrant, have a nifty three barrel pvc insert to make it a shotgun for elites as well as a long barrel for singled elites, thanks to the Autonerf tutorial.

An important note! Alot of Barons are not able to have a spring upgrade! I have bought 2 of these in the past and I don't know if you have an earlier or later version. Mine have a really different track that the plunger follows back and does not allow it to catch with a heavier spring even when upgrading the catch as well.

I actually just got a Boss from Goodwill. Decided to add a Maverick handle to mine like you did the pistol. I tried to extend the barrel with 1inch PVC to do a shotgun mod, but ran into the same issue you did, where barrel drag caused it to fire shorter. Also, the plunger tube on the Boss has a hole in it to reduce impact. I would suggest covering it up with epoxy to improve range on your shotgun.

The tyrant can take a full xploders spring in addition to the stock spring, you could of course cut it down, but the full length will prime and catch. You will want to wrap the spring around the lip on the back of the plunger head as I mentioned on the boss. You also should reinforce the tyrant if you use a full xploders spring.

The boss can take the recon spring in addition to the stock spring, you will want to wrap the recon spring around the lip on the back of the floating plunger head.

For the baron you can just soak them barrel assembly in boiling water and pull the barrels off, the AR will just fall right out of each barrel then and will be a far cleaner far more direct airflow way of doing it.

To anyone that came here hoping he would show the Boss's front cap removal (like I did), it actually is possible to remove it just by carefully inserting a very tiny flathead screwdriver at the top and bottom of the cap, prying it, then kinda tracing the edges with it. Mine popped off with about 2 minutes of shimmying it apart, revealing only 2 small solvent welds on each side - so don't bother trying to do the old boiling water trick.

7:48 It doesn't need to have a long pump in order to function. Have you considered using pulleys in Nerf blasters? The advantage of using pulley is that of mechanical advantage, in which it could reduce the effort required to prime the blaster (mainly for heavier spring loads, like, RIDICULOUS spring loads).

I'm trying to make a baron that fires a hammershot cylinder. It will preform horribly, but if it goes even 15 feet I am very happy, becuase five darts firing out of something that isn't air powered is a very beautiful thing.

You should totally try a centurion. The draw is around 14" and the spring is probably a bit smaller than that because of the gears and stuff. The only problem I can think of is that the plunger rod might be too big.

I remember seeing a Nerhaven post [I think?] involving a pump-action Tyrant. More or less, you'd cut the thing in half past a point, and flip it so the priming slide is, well, on the bottom. Seemed to work fine, with the stock spring at least. With K26? You'd definitely need some form of reinforcement for that. Halo if you happen to find a broken Buzzbee wizard and are able to finagle the plunger tube into a Buzzbee star it will make a fantastic shotgun I just tried it and it works beautifully and it gets ranges of about 40 maybe 45 feet for a 3 shot pistol shotgun

In order for the catch to engage the spring must compress down small enough. If there is too much spring, or if the spring is too thick, or too densely wound then even when it is completely compressed the catch cannot engage.
