You have an actual revolver? Also yes, traditionally loading gates are on the right side, although I don't know why. Edit: after I handled one for a bit, I THINK it is so right handers can reload with their strong arm, but it is kind of counter intuitive now a days, since I think modern swing out cylinder revolver doctrine says you should reload with your left hand if you shoot with your right. Weird.

INRE The revolver loading gate thing: The Colt SAA was designed primarily for cavalry, who still favored a saber in the right hand, and had the pistol in the left. So they made it to be reloaded as if left handed! Since most players will be right handed, they made a sensible call to put the loading gate on the left side of the blaster but it's kinda sad they didn't put it on the right - it'd be nice to see a blaster favor lefties!

Make one. You should be able to get a suitable threaded rod at any hardware store. Then make a handle and thread it onto the rod.
