A friend of mine has that same landing net. It drives me crazy trying to net a sizeable fish with it. It's way to shallow of a net feels more like a pool skimmer than a landing net. I like a deep net so once the fish is in it you van lift vertically instead of trying to scoop them in the boat. That looked like a blast! Hoping to get some cobia this spring when they come my way.

Thankyou, and yes outside of mobile bay around 9-10 miles offshore there is an anchorage zone. There’s usually always atleast 4 or 5 ships out there

You can catch nice Spanish mackerel, bluefish, specks , jacks and a lot of other species of fish around the nearshore rigs trolling or free lining live shrimp or croakers

I was just about to click like when I think you said you released another fish cuz it was still alive so you can catch another one. The way you said it and how I saw the video it seem like you would put that fish in the cooler and then let it go. If that's the case I don't like it at all. I may be wrong
