I'm talking about a scratched bumper or a little tap that people resolve by exchanging insurance information but choose to do it in the middle of the road or highway - which is completely unnecessary and infuriating.

Just pointing out, the right thing to do is get 911 on the line and then check on them once you have emergency on the line. Unless you are a trained first responder, not much you can do. Getting the ambulance started 1 minute sooner is better than amateur medicine.

John Smith yes, but there are atleast 5 people on scene, one calls the ambulance, 2 stop traffic and the others check for obvious injuries on the passengers, there might be a fire inside or someone with open injuries, maybe someone wasn’t buckled up and needs quick help. If there is an infant inside it needs attendance even if it’s just psychological. Just saying that there should have been more movement on scene.

Been watching this series a while. I wonder a couple of things: Does knowing you have a dash cam embolden some folks to make an issue of nothing? Sort of a self-justification or self-victimization it seems to me. Also, ever notice how many of these dash cam owners demonstrate their own rudeness, say by not letting someone merge or get ahead of them even though it would have been so easy? Sure stuff happens, but being chill or gracious defuses most of it.

You would not go to jail for killing someone in an accident and you wouldn't even be held liable if they were the one's at fault. Regardless, nothing justifies using a big rig to cut someone else off and run other traffic off the road as well. If someone wants to get out and have some words with someone at a light, fine. Trucking Man Each case is judged on it's own merits. They dont go to jail if they can demonstrate they are not at fault which the skidmarks would show as did the video in this case. That's why truckers should have dashcams. If you're doing the speed limit and could not stop, you're not going to jail.

Yeah but white steam can be from a busted radiator and even if you lose all of your coolant, you can go for miles and miles before the engine seizes etc. Enough distance and time to flee on foot, later on when tracked down by the police, claim the car was stolen etc. It most likely wouldn't work as the driver would have bruises from the seat belt and airbag but people can be scumbags and try to get away with horrible things.

It appears, although faintly, there is a middle left turn lane. Based on that and from what I see in the video I would say the dark car is a fault for not staying in that left turn lane until it was safe to merge right. If he had, the other car would have been able to get by on his right and also enter the left turn lane after passing the dark car.
