Dealerships a filled with inventory but they’d still rather squeeze every last penny out of their customers rather than to give discounts, and move as many cars as possible. Just last weekend I was looking at a Ram 3500 for work at a dealership which I saw first in car gurus with over 12k in discounts. The problem is when you get there all of the sudden they Change the their prices and you have to qualify for those discounts. And to top it off the sales person and managers still act like no else will give you better deal and you have to buy from them.

Brian, things to consider: Days on market, the dealer can tell you how long the car is been on their lot obviously the higher the better. Secondly be aware of all add-ons in the final invoice, either negotiate or remove many of those items as they may not be standard as in destination, fees, and reconditioning fees as examples. Thirdly, and probably the most important before you do anything get an outdoor price from the sales person or sales manager settle for nothing less than that number from them and negotiate from there. Hope it helps you.

Vehicle prices won’t go down. Did you see how much people get paid to make the cars or how much it cost for rent taxes for the factories? And higher interest rates on the loans? How can it ever go down? If anything it would go up in the near future.

Brian, my only comment is that you really don't need 4 wheel drive if you know how to drive in snow without traction control. I lived in Central, NY where snow starts in October and snow is measured in feet. Every vehicle except for 2 were front wheel drive. I got by just fine with good tires and kitty litter if I ever got stuck. I've only been stuck once and the kitty litter got me out.
