Came to watch a review of a car I was actually considering, stayed, subscribed, and working my way through all the cars. Genuinely great! The clear effort, class editing and detail that goes into these videos deserve way higher subscriber levels than some of the dreck out there 👍 more power to you, Mark!

I just don't get why this channel does not have more subscribers? Not only is more effort put into the video production, the reviews are funny, sharp and astute. Couple this with insightful commentary and I just can not see why the boring shite spouted by the wannabe car journalists get more views?
@footieballer5 жыл бұрын
Keep not caring, because when “My Sharona” introduces your review, you know I have a smile on my face and the review is going to be top notch. Cheers. PS It never gets old.

With a car "being liked" the comments in the video (not ON it) become very detailed and informative - see the bland "Ford Edge" as opposite to this one. But: I never regret this effect, because in both cases the thick of it becomes cristal clear to the viewer. And again: Brititsh Humour is world leading for me!

Objectively great, company cars drivers will still pick a slower, low spec 1-Series/A3/A-Class. Toyota will be aiming at these drivers but probably still end up selling most on motability and daily rental. If Lexus do a cloned version of this car, company car drivers still won’t choose one.

Companies might sway towards hybrids because of legislation.
@davidbreeze74255 жыл бұрын
Yes but you didn't mention emissions and fuel consumption in your comparison with other cars, but this is why Toyota have been building hybrids for a long time now. Does that have no bearing on your overall verdict ? Surely it must be an important factor in your review as manufacturers and Governments move away from diesel towards electric, hybrids, hydrogen etc. etc. Is it time drivers caught up with them ? Cheers.

Seems like a nice car...at a price. The 1.2T is actually not that slow if the 0-62 figure is to be believed (under 10sec), but I wonder if you can only get it in the Icon spec only with no uprated ICE/satnav. I really like the 2.0 hybrid, but it's what £28k (starting for the top spec only) and I bet it comes only on 18in rims which won't ride well on our roads and cost a fortune when the tyres (ineviatbly) wear out/puncture quicker than standard 16in ones. The saloon is actually a very good looking car, the hatch and estate very nice. Let's hope all can take a spare wheel and tyre in the underboot area and they don't charge the sort of extortionate prices Mazda currently are for the 'priviledge' of having one. Next up (March?): the new Mazda3. Now THAT'S a looker! Let's hope the rest of the car lives up to that standard, otherwise I could be changing brands (I currently own a 13yo Mazda 3 saloon). Nice to see I have an option other than an Audi A3 Saloon (expensivo and that horrid DSG auto box) this time round. Shame that the Honda Civic is too big, too ugly (outside anyway) and WAY too expensive. No wonder they're leaving...

Cvt gearbox in Toyota shall be illegal. Drove a sedan corolla recently in Hungary, automatic, and it was ridiculously slow and loud. You said this one felt faster but didn't look so in the video. Otherwise as entertaining as ever, please keep doing it. Your no using car buying bottle test is worth every penny 😁

I never bought one (expensive second-hand), but I hear the facelifted CR-Z was a good hybrid (though in the IMA sense), if you don't mind the lack of legitimate rear seating, the typical sporty Honda rear visibility and the fact there wasn't a hot version. Also, I never did see the point behind the CT 200h - calling it a posh Prius is probably being kind.

Golf GTE? 204PS petrol/electric drivetrain, drives like any other DSG GTx Golf in GTE mode, super responsive and torque-y in any drive mode and a genuine 25 mile plug in/pure electric range (no tiny battery “self charging” bollocks like Toyota is still pushing) I love my GTE. Get a consistent 80mpg on my daily 50 mile round commute driving casually. If I want to hoon about (and don’t mind sacrificing mpg!) I have the option (flappy paddles and all that) :-) Neither the GTE or this Corolla represent the future - but they’re interesting in the near term
