I tell u MOST Jamaicans know zero about customer service or respect when serving someone...most don't care if you become a repeat customer...just spend your money one time wid dem...tek crappy service and move along...the mentality is 'if u don't buy someone else will' and because so many Jamaicans are used to receiving shitty service they will pay you for it...sadly they won't give the same crappy service to a tourist because they believe tourists expect better because they are use to better

You're right about that. I can't stand it. Companies should put their employees through customer service training before before having them serve customers.I have had my fill of it and it's sickening.

@@Izlandprincess1along with customer service training, management should set guidelines for them to adhere to, and a phone number for customers to report through when they receive bad customer service. Management should then hold the employee(s) responsible accountable and discipline them accordingly. There is no way customers should have to put up with bad attitude and rude behavior when spending their hard earned money. Those rude employees need to understand that if they don't have customers, they don't have wages. People need to get together and contact the ministry of labor and urge them to force employers to set up etiquette training programs in the workplace all across the island. These kinds of behaviors have been going on in Jamaica for far too long, and it's about time something drastic is done about it because it is totally unacceptable.

You can buy a 2015 car in Canada and be the second owner for the same price or less than what you’ll get a 2003 car in Jamaica and be the 5th owner. Good Luck with your search girly. A few things to watch out for. Make sure the car has no more than around 35,000 miles or less, you can negotiate pricing don’t ever take the car for the price that’s on the window(tell them you love the car but pinpoint something you don’t like) then tell them the price you want it for, if possible try to get the car facts (don’t buy a car that’s been in an accident), find out the return policy, do you have 7 days to take it back? and stick to Asian cars if you don’t want sky high maintenance costs. Hondas are great.

Please make sure that your car's timing belt is within specification for the mileage i.e it's changed per the manufacturer's hand book. If the belt breaks on these engines that were manufactured post1996. You are going to have a tremendously costly bill, just because of a broken belt. Also make sure the engine compression and emission are within manufacturer's specification. Ah so. More time.

I have noticed or observed a lack of dutifulness in the present population in Jamaica. From the police officers to workers at other establishments (airport, bank). Many are just standing around "willy-nilly" with a lot of lag time when they are supposed to be focus and on guard when on their job. I remember growing up there as a child, dutifulness was taught at school and at home. Too much disorder, I don't do disorder.

Leather seats will burst after sometime in this JA weather and the heat that those seats pack...my gosh...i learned the hard way. The downside is that cloth seats are harder to clean.

You will have to maintain the leather by using a conditioner regularly and parking it out of direct sun. Can get custom seat covers for the cloth seats. I have beige cloth seats but I'm OCD so I dnt have an issue keeping it clean.

I disagree with the left hand drive cars. I actually have driven the left hand side cars and noticed that there were no real limitations around drive thru etc. Most places accommodate for both left and right side vehicles.

Leather seat are really hot in such temperature as in Jamaica when you are ready to drive. That material is better. It’s a shame that we have to buy the deportees cars. Which are often stolen to be scrap for parts. Cars don’t devalue in Jamaica hahaha. The problem with car prices is what the government charge for cost freight insurance. You can get the car from Japan and save 50 % but is a long ting.
