Caramel Sauce in Few Minutes | Caramel Sauce Recipe Using Milk
This caramel sauce is one of my favorite sauces to go with brownies, cookies, pancakes, crepes.. Here's a short video of how to make caramel sauce; other caramel sauce recipes require heavy cream as a creamer, but mine only requires milk.
This is a super easy caramel recipe that doesn't need a lot of ingredients and only takes 10 minutes to be done.

I used this recipe, i didnt use butter. and it still came out perfect. I used 3/4 cups of normal sugar A little more than a half cup of regular milk But i added it slowly in 3 gos. Use a wooden spoon guys and make sure the flame is really low. The caramel is EXTREMELY HOT. dont try to taste it with your finger even from the wooden spatula. 😂 Dont touch it. The milk bubbles alot. Also make sure you add HOT milk or else the caramel cools down and gets solid again then you have to keep mixing it.

I have to use lactose free dairy so this is great! I can use lactose free whole milk which is MUCH easier to find than other lactose free dairy products!

Butter is expensive where I live. Is it possible to substitute margarine instead? Also, if, hypotheticaly, it was my first time trying to make caramel and accidentally burnt the sugar because the recipe I used was so vague and I didn’t know what I was doing- is it still possible to save the caramel, like make it less bitter, or is it a lost cause? I don’t want to have wasted all those ingredients...

Yes, margarine works too, but it may slightly harden the caramel when cold! And no sorry, burnt caramel can’t be fixed, the bitterness doesn’t go away!

Hi😍 welcome to the fam! For salted caramel you can follow the same recipe but replace the unsalted butter with salted one🤗 just because this recipe already has salt in it, so adding salted butter will enhance the salt flavor!

So glad you like it🤗 the only difference is that cold milk might make the mixture bubble a lot more than warm milk will!

Mine turned out super watery, I’ve been trying and trying to make caramel for most of the day and every time it seems like either the milk curdles or it’s way too thin :( I don’t know what to do

It took 15-20 minutes to turn amber because you have to keep it at medium heat. If you dont the water wont evaporate enough and you burn the sugar.

How do you decrystallize the Carmel? I did it the same way and it came out crystalized :(

Maybe put in the microwave for around 30 secs or so! Or dissolve over a double boiler! Or over low flame! I suggest next time make sure the sugar crystals are completely dissolved before adding in the butter! If a single sugar crystal escapes undissolved, the whole thing crystallizes over again!

Skipping butter will make the sugar harder to dissolve in the milk! You’ll get sugar crystals in the caramel!

Home made candy is greatly affected by ALTITUDE. If you reside in mountainous areas, research quite a bit to-- eventually-- get excellent results. Local libraries, science teachers, newspaper food editors if they still exist, and even weather reporters might be worth consulting. Knowing as best you can the exact height where you are cooking is useful, and having a PHD in esoteric mathematics is essential. For years, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, disaster after disaster even with fudge. On the Canadian Prairies, success after success on the first attempt. Approach with the right altitude. This particular video is excellent, except one doesn't learn about HEATING THE MILK until, well... after. Troubleshooting was offered in the video, and was successful. Bonne chance!

So glad you like it! I have some recommendations of where it went wrong, I’m not sure if it’s one of them! But using sugar with large sugar granules might cause the caramel sauce to be grainy! Also, the sugar granules stuck to the sides of the pan might’ve affected the texture of the caramel sauce as well! So it might be one of the two🤗
