I guess it also the effect of the gopro with the fish eye lense. Which blows up the video's sides and condenses the middle. Therefore the gaps between the cars look even smaller than they are in reality. Still looks pretty stressful especially if I compare it to the cycling lanes we have here in the Netherlands. Maybe the cities in the US should decrease the width of the already huge lanes and add some cycling lanes as well. Maybe that would require the people to drive smaller and more efficient cars but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Although it will not happen anytime soon with the current oil prices.

hey man great vid, does this work on cracks around the headtube?
@LeTourDePlants9 жыл бұрын
Simon Yik This is the basic repair technique for any carbon. That said, some areas may take a lot more effort to patch. The mid section of the top tube on my bike was the easiest place on the frame to patch. The pro repair guys say that nearly any carbon break or crack can be repaired.

Le Tour de Plants do you have any tips for the repair of this? gyazo.com/355a07b52c4d8c98298c29b1d5a86112 Do you think I can just wrap multiple layers around all the cracks and it'll be fine?

Holly Smokes! Flying low through enemy motorized lines! It seems strong enough... And i bet you check it every ride for cracks or other issues... Would I ride it? Not if I knew But then again, I've saw some nasty carbon work from some (famous, better not to mention the brand) car manufacturers...and it was not a repair...

So..ppl buy carbon frames to have a light bike so they can go faster..but why buy a plastic bike that can hurt you when you can buy a electric aluminium or steel frame if you want speed.I have 1995 aluminium Scott 1x7,10kg non electric and im happy with it.

you dont have bike lanes? I would get a heart attack, but fun to watch....
@LeTourDePlants9 жыл бұрын
A few street have bike lanes, but most do not. When there are bike lanes around here they are usually between the parked cars and traffic so we have to watch for open car doors too. It keeps me alert!!

I don't have the gonads to do what you're doing. How fast do figure you were doing between those cars? ... I cycle about 20 miles per day and I'm also vegan ... cool to watch you maneuver between all that traffic .. but, it looks like split second timing.

the cars are stopped at a light so I'm just rolling by. Prob around 10-15 mph.

Holy crap, this looks dangerous as fuck. I'm German and the culture is much more pro-cyclists and car drivers are very respectful. Now, what is your opinion on cycling in LA in general? Have you experience in other countries, like some in Europe?
@LeTourDePlants9 жыл бұрын
Frederik Dortmund I have been to Germany and it is a cycling paradise in terms of bike lanes and respect from drivers. I have lived in many parts of the USA and LA is the best riding of the places where I've lived. Though the drivers are aggressive they are accustomed to seeing cyclists on the road, so IMHO are less likely to run into one. Urban cycling is definitely scary. I try to pick the streets with the best traffic flow and use residential streets or the sidewalk if needed.

There are some other cities that are good for cyclists but it hasn't spread to the society at large. : )

Terrible riding. You have no control when you zip between vehicles like that, and no visibility just past them, just as you pass. Really sad to see people cycling like that especially as you'd expect cyclists to have more respect for fellow road users. If I cycled like that in London, I'd be dead.
