I don’t understand how you’re supposed to figure out which card it is using the rows. I get how the first “row pick” narrows it down, but how do you know after the second “row pick”?

You forgot to explain some vital features such as: the correct way of laying out the cards, what row it will appear in and what to do with the cards after the flow is made (the bit where you messed around) I spent half an hour trying to do this but I was laying the cards out in separate rows of 7 rather than in 3's. I then realised how you laid down the cards after half an hour of failure.

I actually did notice in your first demonstration of the trick that your "which piles do you want" was inconsistent as to whether it means to remove them or keep them, but didn't quite catch the system. After you revealed it, the question that comes to my mind is: What if the observer asks beforehand if it means to remove them or keep them?
