Straying from the fashion pack, Cardi B gets ready for the Met Gala by wearing an avant-garde creation designed by Windowsen-one of fashion’s coolest emerging labels. At over 8 feet tall in 15-inch heels, Cardi literally stands above the rest at the Met. While getting fitted for prosthetics (that were ultimately scrapped for the final look) Cardi talks candidly about her feelings on cosmetic surgery and aging. Cardi also goes deep on her anxieties around socializing at the gala.

You know as well as I do that the Stan/Attack culture would have flamed her; despite the theme of the Met. Cardi has already made it clear [in interviews] that she can be very sensitive to criticism, and I suspect she was not willing to take that risk. She doesn’t not always have the tough skin of, like Lady Gaga, who would have lend ALL THE WAY into it. That said, I would say she still pushed the limits of what SHE felt comfortable doing, and WE [who were not invited] need to respect that.
